A Chairde, The Boston CYC Host Committee and Irish Cultural Centre are pleased and excited to be hosting the 2018 O Neills Continental Youth Championship. With over 230 teams we are primed for the largest CYC to date. Program Book A program book will be available at the two main entrances of the Irish Cultural Centre. Please make sure you take one. It includes maps of all fields and some discounts from local vendors. Registration - we highly recommend pre-registration CYC Boston Player Pre-Registration at Irish Cultural Centre Monday, July 30 from 6-8p CYC Out-of-town Player Pre-Registration at the following hotels on Tuesday, July 31 from 6:30-8pm, Sheraton Needham Rockland Players Only Quincy Marriott Chicago Celtics, Eire Og Ottawa, Montreal, UK St. Brendans, Indy Hyatt Braintree St. Jarlaths, San Fran, Toronto Chieftans, St. Eunans Hilton Dedham All Remaining Clubs Save yourself some time Wednesday morning and pre-register before Tuesday evening. If you are not able to attend this registration event, you must register at the Main Registration Tent on Wednesday morning prior to the start of competition. Teams should arrive at the ICC one hour prior to the start of their first game. Admission There will be an admission fee on both Friday and Saturday of $10 per adult, children under the age of 18 will not be charged. This fee will help offset some of the overhead charges we have incurred in producing this event. Wrist bands for Friday and Saturday will be sold on Wednesday and Thursday. We thank you for your cooperation and helping us fund this great event. Parking Parking is FREE!!!! Parking at the Irish Cultural Centre will be for Volunteers only. We have arranged for significant satellite parking for teams and spectators at 275 Dan Rd and Armstrong Pharmaceuticals (Dan Rd entrance only). Please follow the signs for satellite parking. Shuttle busses will be running continuously to the fields from these parking locations. Since Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are regular work days for the surrounding businesses please do not park in their designated areas. Parking areas will be labeled with CYC signs. All cars must be out of satellite parking lots by 8:30 pm. There is no parking allowed at the Gunning Fields. No Exceptions. All cars parked illegally or in areas not deemed parking are subject to towing
Directions to the fields and parking Irish Cultural Centre Parking Lot 200 New Boston Drive, Canton MA 02021 275 Dan Road, Canton, MA 02021 From Boston and directly North of Boston Follow Route 93 South through the City of Boston. At Route 3/93 split, bear right following signs for Route 93 South to Route 95 (Dedham/Providence) Take Exit 2A to Route 138 South. Follow Route 138 South 3.6 miles. From West of Boston Follow the Masspike (I-90) east towards Boston. Take exit number 14 (Sth. Shore/Cape Cod) to merge onto I-95 S / MA-128 S. Follow Route 128/95 North to Route 93 North. Take Exit 2A (Stoughton) onto Route 138 South. Follow Route 138 South for 3.6 miles. From the North From Route 93 South take Exit 37B to Route 128 (95) South. At the junction of Rte 95 South and 93 North, stay straight on 93 North. Take Exit 2A on to Route 138 South. Follow Route 138 South for 3.6 miles. From Rhode Island and the South Route 95 North to Route 93 North. Take Exit 2A to Route 138 South. Follow Route 138 South 3.6 miles. General Information for Irish Cultural Centre We have received and are required to notify you of the following requirements from the Irish Cultural Centre: 1 - Absolutely no alcoholic beverages will permitted on the grounds 2 - Absolutely no pets are allowed with the exception of dogs accompanying the visually impaired 3 - No Coca-Cola products are permitted at the Centre. Pepsi is a sponsor for the Irish Cultural Centre. Any Coke products brought in will be disposed of. 4 - Coolers will be permitted into the facility and are subject to being searched. 5 - You will be allowed to bring in tents to the Irish Cultural Centre. We will have designated areas on the campus where you will be allowed to pitch your tents. No tents will be allowed to be put up near the actual playing fields. You should check with a Staff person if you are unsure of the designated areas. Thank you for your cooperation. 6 - Please bring your club banners so they can be displayed on our main field. Make sure you bring ties to hang them up. We appreciate everyone's cooperation with the above requirements, as we are required to escort anyone found to be in possession of the above from the premises, which means exclusion from the grounds for the entire weekend. We do not want this to happen.
Bus Transportation The Host Committee will be providing bus transportation to and from hotels for fly in cities to the fields beginning about 6:15 am until 7-8:00pm. Buses will be on a schedule throughout the day with an emphasis on the morning and evening rush hours. Buses will be labeled with hotel names and towns. The pickup and drop off area is located near the main entrance. Bus schedule is attached to this email and published in the program book. Shuttle Bus Transportation & Walking Between Fields Shuttle busses will be running continuously from satellite parking areas and dropping off at the Armstrong Field and the Main Gate. There are three main field areas at the ICC. They are walkable but you will need to give yourself ample time to get between fields. Gunning field shuttle is located inside the ICC at back of Field B. Shuttle for Armstrong Field and Parking Lots will be at the Main Gate near Field D. Mass Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, August 5 th at 8:00 am at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton in the tent. Buses will be available for pick up at the fly-in cities hotels on Sunday morning. Everyone is welcome to attend. Water Water Monsters have been rented for our water source this year. They will be placed throughout the Centre to refill water bottles that will be provided to each athletes. Coaches will be handing the bottles out to each player on the first tournament day. Water towers on each field will be for players and coaches only. Please remember to stay hydrated throughout the day. Presentations Presentation of awards medals and cups will take place after each championship game on the Presentation Stage located near the Main Tent. Finalists are asked to go directly to the Presentation Stage immediately after the conclusion of the game. A member of the CYC Steering Committee or Croke Park will present medals and cups to both competing teams. Field Layout Games will be played on 6 fields across 3 locations. Fields A, B, C, D are located inside the ICC. Field E at Gunning field and Field F at Armstrong field. A layout of the fields for the 2018 O Neills CYC tournament will be located at admissions, at the registration tent, and in the event book provided by the Host Committee Food Menu There are a variety of food options at the Irish Cultural Centre. Kilcommons Catering, ICC Pub and Dining room, Fantexmexical, Posto Pizza, Metro Boston Vending (Gunning Field), Cool Cream Sweets, Corner Store, and Snack Shack. Menus that are more detailed can be found in the event book provided by the Host Committee and CYC website.
Under 6 Competition The U6 Competition will take place each day. Check the master schedule for times and fields. U6 boys and girls will be divided up into teams. Each player will be given a colored t-shirt for the competition. Medals will be awarded to players on Saturday. Lost & Found/Missing Children A Lost & Found table will be set up in the Main Registration Tent. If you need an announcement for a missing child, please come to the Main Tent and we will make an announcement over our PA system. If you happen to find a child, please bring them to the tent and we will try and locate a member of their team to find their parent. Telecast/Setanta The Irish Cultural Centre will be showing telecasts from Ireland on Saturday and Sunday. Entrance fee for telecast is $20.00 EMT/Medical Tent We will have a medical tents set up in three location Armstrong Field, Gunning Field and the ICC for the entire weekend staffed with medical volunteers.
