REGULATIONS 1 TITLE The competition is the OPF OPEN Event, (hereinafter referred to as the Event ). 2 DATE JUNE 16, 2018. 3 ORGANIZED BY The Alberta Weightlifting Association (AWA) is known as the Organizing Committee (OC) of the competition. 4. Sanctioned The Event is sanctioned by the AWA and the CWFHC. 5. Anti-Doping Educational Requirement Note that all participants must complete the on line anti-doping educational course at http://cces.ca/truesportclean101untracked. All athletes are required to complete this and will sign a confirmation letter at competition indicating they have completed this course in the past 12 months. This is a requirement for participation in the competition. HOST AWA and Olympic Power & Fitness Weightlifting Club: in Edmonton, AB (hereinafter referred to as the Host when in context). 7. VENUE 7.1 Venue Address: Saville Community Sports Centre HPTRC Green Bldg. on map 11610-65 th Avenue Edmonton, AB. T6G 2E1 *see attached map for directions. LRT stops close to the centre. 2
7.2 Parking parking available on site, 7.3 Weigh-in Room TBA. 7.4 Doping Control Room - TBD 7.5 Officials Room/area on event site 8.1 EVENTS - See 8 Participants 8.1 Senior Women 48. 53. 58. 63. 69. 75, 90, 90+ body weight categories 8.2 Senior Men 56. 62, 69. 77, 85, 94, 105 & 105+ body weight categories 9.0 PARTICIPANTS - Please note the event is capped at 60 entries. 9.1 Participants defined - Any athlete, coach, team leader or Technical Official (hereinafter. TO ) involved in the competition shall be defined as a Participant. 9.2 Eligibility All participants must be members in good standing of the AWA upon entry. 9.4 Qualifying Performances Open Event, no qualifications required. 9.5 Coach Eligibility NCCP Competition Intro Certified. Coaching Assistants must be NCCP Competition Introduction Trained Eligibility is verified by the VP Technical prior to each event. Coaches who are eligible and have been declared on the athletes entry form will be given accreditation for the session their athletes are competing. 9.6 TO Eligibility - Participants must be Category 4 or higher or in completion of training. 10 ENTRIES 10.1 Entry Form : The Entry Form must be received by the OC and the Competition Director (hereinafter, the CD) not later than June 2, 2018. Late Entries will not be accepted. Entries will also not be accepted when the cap of 60 athletes has been reached. A wait list will be started and will be valid until the entry deadline. 10.2 Entry Lists The entry List will be distributed by the CD to all Participants before midnight on June 5, 2018. 11.0 COMPETITION RULES & REGULATION: 11.1 The latest IWF Technical Rules and Regulations (IWF TCRR), carried out in full conformity with the IWF and the CWFHC s Constitutions, By-Laws and Rules, and administered by AWA officials will govern the competition. Note 1: Costume: Athletes in their first event are not required to wear a singlet, however, the T-shirt must be collarless and short sleeves, and close fitting shorts i.e. cycling shorts. DOPING CONTROL: This competition will be subject to random doping control by CCES. 14.0 AWARDS 14. IWF TCRR 5.5.7 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded respectfully to the first three (3) places for the Total in each of the body weight categories. Best LIFTER AWARDS : will be presented to the top female and male lifter with the highest Sinclair total. 15.0 Financial Conditions: 15.1 Entry Fee: $75.00 for each entry. 15.2 Payments Collection: Entry fee is payable on line when athlete is completing entry Method: 15.3 Refunds will not be issued after entry deadline. 16.0 FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AWA 16.1 Provides, free of charge, the technical organization at all pertaining facilities (equipment, technical staff, etc) for the Event. 16.2 Provides, free of charge, all awards. 16.3 Provides food and water for Technical Officials 17.0 FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participants 17.1 The Participants will pay for their own accommodation, when required. Technical Officials will follow current travel policy. 17.2 All Participants in the Competition do so at their own risk. The Participants must undertake full moral and financial responsibility for their health and in the case of accidents of damages. 18.0 OFFICIATING Technical Officials will be of two kinds as follows: 18.1 Adjudicating Technical Officials These are assigned by the TOC and shall include the Referees, Jury members, Technical Controllers Competition Director/Secretary, the Speakers, the Time-keepers, the Technical Operators. 18.2 Auxiliary Technical Officials These are assigned by the OC and shall include the loaders. 4
