No other conference has a higher percentage. The Big 12 was 4-3 versus peer conferences last week with two of those wins on the road, and 6-3 overall as all games were against FBS teams. In the first three weeks, the Big 12 has played 17 games against non-conference FBS opponents and won 65 percent of those matchups. Three losses were by unranked Big 12 teams to top-12 rated opposition by a combined 19 points. K-State s game against No. 5 Auburn marks the Big 12 s third top five nonconference opponent as it has already faced the top-two ranked teams. With this week s two non-league opponents a combined 4-1, Big 12 games the past two weeks have been against teams that had a cumulative 19-4 mark entering the contests. Since 2011, the Big 12 is 93-22 (.809) in regular season non-conference games. The Conference is 80-14 (.851) in non-league games in the month of September during the same span. With Oklahoma State entering the Associated Press Poll this week, 50 percent of Big 12 teams have made an appearance in the top 25 through the first four polls. Among FBS conferences, the Big 12 is second in total defense (339.81 yards), third in total offense (461.74 yards) and third in scoring (35.89 points). Big 12 teams are nearly equal in passing and rushing touchdowns this season with 58 scored through the air and 56 on the ground. Of the 32 touchdown drives last week, 14 took two minutes or less and eight required five or fewer plays. The Big 12 has 15 100-yard receiving performances through the first three weeks, including two over 200 yards. QB Clint Trickett (West Virginia) was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week.
