News from the Club Dear Doublegate Member, The club is experiencing a large number of opportunities relating to Private Cart usage on Doublegate property. I am deeply concerned about the safety of both the cart operators and our golfing member s. I am asking for cooperation from all private cart owners and family members who drive on Doublegate property before we have to eliminate private cart usage all together. The golf staff and I have revised and updated the private cart policies for your review. I encourage each family to spend time together reading and adhering to the policies listed below. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us immediately. I thank you in advance for your help in this very important matter. Private Cart Usage & Etiquette Revised March 31, 2016 Sincerely, Danny Souza General Manager Private cart operators must be aware at all times while on the golf course. Use caution when approaching blind corners, tee boxes, greens, and anytime a group is in sight. If the golfer(s) are at a stop, Private carts should be at a stop and out of the way of the golfer. This includes the golfers swing, sight and ball flight. Private cart usage must yield way to ALL GOLFERS PLAYING GOLF. The number of passengers on the cart must not exceed the recommended amount. Hanging on the side or back of the cart is completely unacceptable. This is not only reckless, but it can lead to serious injury. NO MUSIC at any level will be permitted. No loud talking or yelling. Do not disturb or interfere with any golfers on the course.. Private Carts must remain on the cart paths at all times. Cutting across fairways is unacceptable. This is to ensure safety to both golfers and private cart operators/riders. Reckless driving is unacceptable. This includes horse play, racing, swerving, doughnuts, driving on greens and tee boxes, bunkers, riding in restricted areas, and any wet areas of the course. When not in use, the golf carts will be parked in the area near the scoreboard or parked at the driving range as not to interfere with daily golf cart traffic near and around the clubhouse. Private cart owners shall be responsible for any damage to Doublegate CC property caused by their cart, whether resulting from the use of the cart by owner or their guest. Property including by not limited to the golf course, trees, paths, buildings, signage, fences and any such other property owned by the club. The Owner of the cart will be responsible for all passengers on board. Any violations by passengers will extend to the owner of the vehicle and they will be held accountable. When approached by the golf staff, the driver must stop if instructed to do so. Any unauthorized carts will be escorted off the premise. If there is any doubt as to whether the vehicle is authorized, please contact the golf staff before driving the cart. Golf carts are not to be parked anywhere on the golf course. This includes the ponds, blue hole, or any other open spaces. The golf course is for playing golf only. If any behavior is witnessed that violates the rules or policies set forth, they are to be immediately reported to the golf staff. This includes carts violating the rules during operating hours as well as after the course has closed. As a member of Doublegate CC you should take pride in the club and look to protect and preserve it for all to enjoy. No private carts will be permitted for use of playing golf. 2 - The GATEPOST

Call Ed Everett with the correct answer. The first three callers with the correct answer will receive a sleeve of balls of your choice. May is here and so are the temperatures. We have really had a nice transition into some more consistent warmer weather. Rain fell during late March and early April led to some significant accumulation. We had a few rain events over four inches. This led to some challenges with cart traffic. I want to thank the members for paying attention to where they choose to drive carts it really does make a difference. On the course we are really busy with a lot of details and projects that are going on. The pool grounds are coming together nicely. The crew is doing some cart path patching and getting everything looking and playing good for the member guest tournament. This is no small task. The crew is really working hard. There are a few hard pan areas that we are going to address near the cart paths and plan to break up and put down amendments and sod. We are getting the greens dialed in for the remainder of the time we have before the much needed aerification. It has been a year since we opened them up. The transplanted trees are looking good and heathy. We have some more beautification that will be taking place here in mid- to late April around the club house. The rough has been mowed down to one inch to start the year and is being grown back to 1.25 inches. The walk ways and intermediate are being cut as I write this. It really is a beautiful time of year around the club and on the course. It s wonderful to see so much activity as well. Come see us out on the course. News from the Courts Dear Doublegate Members, Summer is only a few weeks away and the club should be busy with golf, tennis, and the swimming pool open. The tennis courts will be going all day and every day with camps, academies, and regular play. We are anticipating a big Summer with all the opportunities for everyone to participate. We will kick off the Summer with our first tennis and swim camp starting at the end of May. The tennis activities will not stop for the Summer until the middle of August. We hope to see all of you around this Summer. This past March the Singleton family had a chance to watch the Miami Open pro tennis tournament. It is a trip we hope to offer all of our tennis players and opportunity to attend sometime in the next few years. The Singleton s got a chance to see all the top players in the world compete. During the tournament players are accessible to the kids allowing them to sometimes visit and take pictures. Sophie and Wade got a great picture with Fernando Verdasco. The smiles on their faces are priceless. The tennis courts are almost ready for the Meals on Wheels charity tennis event. By the time you read this we will have hosted the event. The tennis court bathrooms are also on the list to renovate. The recent updates to the lights, bathrooms, and grounds should have the courts looking their best for the charity event.
