LEES KENPO KARATE CHINESE THUMB SCREW What do they do? Right handed hand shake or similar Hold or attack like a forward knife thrust (you will have to change the beginning step!). 1. Bring your left hand on top of his right and sandwich his hand between yours. Grab your opponents thumb between your thumb and first index knuckle putting it in a thumb lock. 2. Step in with your left foot to 12:00 and pivot your body right into a soft bow (duck your head under his arm) keeping his hand between yours. This should cause your opponent to spin and expose his back to you. 3. Execute a tricep stretch (keep his harm bent and on your right shoulder as you pull down with your hands), lock, or break, causing a lot of pain and dropping his weapon (if he has one). This is a technique that needs to be practiced a lot with a partner.
LEE S KARATE Hidden Fist What they do: The attacker grabs your right shoulder with their left hand with their body Turned toward you. 1. Execute a right handed outward block freeing his hand off your shoulder. 2. Execute a right handed knuckle rake across your opponent s nose. 3. As you chamber your left hand bring your right hand back to your left shoulder. 4. Simultaneously chop to his throat with your right hand as you do a vertical punch with your left hand to his solar plexus (done in a way to hide the fist). Like you are covering a mug of hot chocolate and covering the top.
Plucking a Bird from the Sky What they do: LEE S KARATE Inc. Your opponent is executing a right handed punch as he steps toward you. 1. Execute a double hand sweep as you step with your left foot to 10:00. 2. C-step with your right foot and execute a double palm heel strike to his side. 3. Grab his head from behind by putting your fingers in his eyes or by striking with a palm heel strike to his chin with your right hand as you pull his head back with your left. 4. Continue to hold your opponent as you pivot left and trip your opponent over your right leg throwing him to the ground. 5. Kick, Stomp, Knee punch: right front snap kick to his ribs, heel stomp to solar plexus or spine (depending on how they fall), and Knee punch.
LEE S KARATE Monkey Elbow What they do: Opponent is standing and facing you at 2:00 with his left hand grabbing your Right shoulder. 1. Step to the right into a horse stance and execute a right handed ridge hand block to his elbow bending it (you are not trying to knock it off). 2. Right horizontal elbow (you can replant the horse stance if you want to allow a little more pivot. 3. Pivot right into a forward bow and swan his right arm and pull your opponent toward you. 4. Execute a right handed palm strike to his chin as your opponent is still traveling toward you. 5. Make sure you can do this technique with both hands: left handed, right handed, and simultaneous.
LEE S KARATE Grasping Talon What they do: Opponent is in front of you and giving you a bad handshake or wrist grab with his right hand. 1. Step your left hand to 11:00 and execute a pressing block (downward palm heel strike) to his wrist breaking the hold. 2. Right hand Reverse vertical punch to his solar plexus.
LEE S KARATE Folding Wings What they do: Opponents are on either side of you with their hands on your shoulders. 1. Step your right foot back to 6:00 and swing both of your arms forward, up and around and placing your opponents in a couple of arm locks. 2. Double hammer fist strike to their groins. 3. Move your hands back behind their heads and strike their heads together (make sure you move your head out of the way)
Lee s Karate WATER WHEEL Attack: Defense: Opponent is at 12:00, facing you. Step-right punch. 1. Step your left foot to a horse stance, at 10:00. Right hand covers low. Left hand parry. Right hand back fist to his face, from behind your left hand. Right foot to a cat stance. 2. Left foot to a horse stance, at 10:00. Right hand arm hook to his right hand. Left palm heel to his ribs, (fingers towards his back). 3. Pivot left to a forward bow. Right hook punch to his solar plexus. 4. Pivot right to a horse stance. Left hand grabs his chin, (reaching around his head). 5. Pivot left to a forward bow. Pull him back with your left hand. Right hand hammer fist to the solar plexus.
TUMBLING CLOUDS Attack: Defense: Lee s Karate Opponent is at 12:00, facing you. Step-right knife attack to your stomach. 1. Step your left foot to a horse stance, at 10:00. Right hand chop to his wrist, (counter clockwise). 2. Left palm heel to his elbow, (palm up). Right hand chop to his wrist, (clockwise). 3. Pivot left to a forward bow. Right hand ridge hand to the left side of his neck. Left hand controls his right hand.
