D E C E M B E R 2 0 1 1 Central 4D News Are you ready for the New Year? We are! A Monthly Newsletter Volume 15, Issue 1 Welcome Back MO! For the past few years, the Central 4D of Missouri has taken a break. We are glad to have them back up and going and look forward to this being a great year for them. & 3 OK New Years Eve & Day Bash... Get Ready! We are looking forward to going to Chickasha December 31 and Jan 1 for the first 2 Central 4D OK shows of the year. We hope that you are there to help ring in the new year with all of your friends. MEMBERSHIPS DUE!!! At the beginning of each season, it is time to renew your membership with the Central 4D. Look for the membership application at the end of the newsletter. Mail it to your region, and make sure you get qualified for the 2012 Finals. OK Schedule We have our schedule for the 2012 season. Be sure and mark your calendars. There are 12 regular season shows, so that means that you have to participate in 6 of them to qualify for the Finals in September of 2012. Help Wanted At each of the shows, we are in need of barrel setters and sometimes gate help. The Central 4D pays for people to work, so please let us know if you would like to help!!! Thanks in advance. Banner Sponsors... Thank you to the Central 4D members that have secured sponsorships for the association. If you know of someone who might like to advertise with the Central 4D in the way of banners, or ads in the e-news, please contact Eddie, Sharla, Ross, or Steve. We will be happy to work with them. Keep in mind this is what helps pay for awards. 15 Years and Still Growing... by Ross Wright An idea, 3 people and a horse trailer. That is how it all began. It was at an SPRA, Sue Brown, Kay Garrison, and Cathy Otis sat in Cathy s horse trailer and began thinking of something new. That was in the summer of 1997. Here we are, Christmas of 2011, and the wheels are still in motion. What were we thinking? No sure:) The Central 4D is definitely a labor of love for the board members Eddie Beaty, Sharla Nehring, and Ross & Steven Wright. But love it is. Whether it is for the sport, friends we have made, or friends that are yet to be, we all enjoy our time with each other and you!!! As I write this, it is a few days before Christmas, and I realize how many of you have impacted my life. Many of you have been there through the death of my father, birth of Jordan, and death of my mom. So many of you hold such a special place in my heart for no other reason than you were placed in my and Steve s live for a reason. I guess that means that we did not have to do any thinking, The Central 4D had a purpose, and we are just along for the ride. Where are we going? We are looking forward to another great year of barrel racing. We are working on making the 15th year of the Central 4D very special ( not that the others are not special). If you have any suggestions or ideas, please let one of the board members know and we will give it an honest look. In 15 years, we have tried to make things as fair as possible. We have also done our best to keep things consistent. That makes it easier on us all. I have received some calls here lately from past members that are going to get to start going again, and we are glad to have each of you back. On behalf of the Central 4D board, we would like to Thank You, the contestant, for your continued support, and love of the same sport that we love. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH OF YOU, AND MAY YOU ALL HAVE A VERY BLESSED 2012!!!

C E N T R A L 4 D N E W S - D E C E M B E R 2 0 1 1 2 0 1 2 O K S C H E D U L E Well, here it is. Our 2012 schedule. Please remember if weather is questionable, to call first. However, we do not want to call anything off to early, so don t count on a cancellation to be made until the day before the show (or the day of). Be sure to check www.central4d.com for all of the up to date information. We will post information there if there are any changes, and also send out an e-mail. December 31 - Chickasha January 1 - Chickasha February 11 - Shawnee February 12- Shawnee February 18 - RHR Arena, Lawton March 31 - Victory Farms, Ada April 1 - Victory Farms, Ada May 5 - Barn 8, OKC Fairgrounds May 6 - Barn 8, OKC Fairgrounds *June 16-185 Arena, Perry *July 21 - Anadarko RUC *August 25 - Choctaw RUC September 14-16 - CHICKASHA FINALS * denotes tentative date and location. Lets Eat!!! Panhandle Breakfast Casserole - Linda Wright 1 lb sausage, browned 3 cans green chilies 1 lb cheddar cheese grated 1 lb Monterey Jack cheese grated 9 eggs, beaten 1 c milk 1 tbs four - Mix together well. Pour into 9x13 cake pan Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. OK New Years Eve & Day Bash... Get Ready continued... The Central 4D has a long history with a January 1 show. Some of you might remember when we had the New Years day show in Barn 6 at the OKC Fairgrounds. One year there were over 500 entries there. We had 2 tractors. At 3am, Steve was one of the volunteer tractor drivers, and shortly later, a wheel fell off of the other tractor. I remember being a barrel setter - Good Times, Good Times:) And that they were, and now they are great memories (thankfully they are memories). So, now I want to take a moment to say a big Thank You to Eddie Beaty and crew. What a blessing it has been and continues to be to know that the ground will be at the absolute best that it can be when they are there!!! This year at Chickasha, stalls will be $25 for the weekend, hook ups $20 for the night. Saturday exhibitions will begin at 10am, and the Youth will begin at 2pm with the Open to follow immediately. Sunday we will have the Church service at 8:30am, exhibitions @ 10am, and Youth at 12 noon, with Open to follow. I have had some requests that there be a social function that goes along with this. So, for those of you who would like to participate, we will set up a couple of tables on the east side (where we give away the awards) and you can bring some covered dishes if you would like. Not real food, but maybe finger foods. We will have some type of music and ring in the new year together. I can t think of a better way to say good bye to the past and hello to the future than with so many special people. We hope that each of you are able to make it!!! Banner Sponsors (con t) As some of you might know, it is getting harder and harder to get donations for awards or anything else. That is why our banner sponsorships are so important. Banner sponsorships are $200 per year, and we will have the banner made the first year. This was one of the first ideas that the Central 4D embarked on was the sale of banner sponsorships. It has been very successful each year, and each year we are so thankful for the support and income that it generates. Other than the publishing of cookbooks several years ago, the banners are the only money maker that the Central 4D has done. This would not have ever been possible with out S & G Rodeo Designs. Thank You to Sharla Nehring. Sharla has and continues to make the banners for the Central 4D and a discounted price. Her generosity of not only her time, but talent, has been an asset to the Central 4D. Kansas & Missouri We are looking forward to these 2 regions growing this year. It is always fun to see our friends that live in Kansas in September at the finals. This year several missed faces will be back from Missouri. Each region has their information on the Central 4D website, so if you have friends that live in any of the areas that you don t, have them contact the director where they live and encourage them join to come to the finals. Also, we look forward to each of the regions having a page in the Newsletter each month. Personal Notes: Get Well to Judy Newby. I hope you are already up and at em. Judy had a horse accident the week before the finals in September that prevented her from coming to Chickasha. Hope to see you this year! Glad to hear that Carol Tracy is doing well. Carol underwent hip replacement surgery and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle soon. Continued prayers for Jennie Crawford and Revelle Felkins. Jennie is currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Well Wishes to Debbie Williams who has recently been in the hospital for her heart. Hope to see you soon. Prayers for Jill Evans. Jill has been undergoing some tests, and we are hoping for a good outcome. Get Well to Rick Oller??? AGAIN???:) Rick was so excited to find out if he could put weight on his leg, that he slipped and tore a muscle in is arm. Rick is now walking, but has undergone surgery on his arm. 2 C4D NEWSLETTER
