Don t forget about the classes that are only open to 4-H members. Also each club will be putting in a scarecrow again this year and 4-H clubs will be manning the booth and educating the public on 4-H in our county. 4-H Family Fun Night Cleveland County 4-H held its third annual 4-H Family Fun night on Thursday, September 4 th. It was a great event with once again over 100 people in attendance. This year our community service project is through the shoebox-recycling program and in just one night we had 80lbs of shoes donated. Thank you so much to those who helped make the night a success by planning and/or attending.
County 4-H T-Shirts We need to place an order for our County T-shirts. Below is what would be on the front and back of the shirt. If you are interested the cost is $10.00 per shirt. For those of you that are always looking for citizenship activities, I invite you to attend the September 16 th Cleveland County Commissioners meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:00pm and they will be making a proclamation naming October as Agriculture Appreciation month in Cleveland County. Please make plans to attend at 6 p.m. in the commissioner s chambers, second floor, County Administration Building, 311 East Marion Street, Shelby. Chicken Plate Dinner Our Fundraiser event is fast approaching. We need to start selling tickets for our Chicken Plate Dinner that will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 5:00 8:00 PM at the Boiling Springs Masonic Lodge. We are asking each family to sell 10 tickets. We HAVE to sell all 300 tickets. Please make arrangements to come by the office and pick your tickets up. We will also be selling tickets during the fair. Also we will have club booths set up at this event and it would be great to have 4-H members there to talk about what they are doing in that club. Paper Clover Campaign Tractor Supply Company (TSC) in Shelby will again be joining 4-H in support of local youth with the 4-H TSC Paper Clover Campaign, a national in-store fundraising effort to benefit state and local 4 H programming in each of the communities where a Tractor Supply Company store is located. Beginning Wednesday, October 8th through Sunday, October 19th, shoppers at the Shelby Tractor Supply Company stores will have the opportunity to support 4-H in Cleveland County by purchasing paper clovers for just $1 at checkout. All funds raised through this local 4-H TSC Paper Clover Campaign will be donated to 4-H, and will support 4-H youth development program activities in Cleveland County. Please help support this effort and share the news with your friends and family. We appreciate the support of TSC in past years and are grateful for their support again in 2014.
