What you need to do Expect disruption and plan for delays Review and understand the Games Route Network and the associated restrictions Check the Local Area Traffic Management and Parking plans around the venues where you deliver services: Be mindful of road closures, parking & loading and waiting restrictions restrictions and how this might affect your and your patients journeys Check the programme of sporting and cultural events note event start and finish times are multiple sessions happening when are the busiest times? Check if you have any patients or service households that are in the red secure zones

What you need to do Within the context of business as usual think about how you might revise, or re-time your services and patient visits can you reduce or re-schedule non-essential meetings? can staff work flexibly? Clinical takes priority Remind patients that they will need to adjust their travel time during this period and that they can check travel details at Traveline Scotland Check the websites regularly there will be updates

What we are doing Portal on the NHS website to facilitate planning Q&A for managers being developed Process being agreed with G2014 to allow staff access to patients in restricted areas Letter to patients who have scheduled appointments during Games Time

Our Transport Plan to Keep Glasgow Moving

What is the Games Route Network (GRN)? The Games Route Network is a crucial part of any major multisport event. It ensures athletes and officials are able to get to venues within a reasonable and, more importantly, reliable time and it minimises conflict between Games transport and other city travel. It doesn t mean swathes of road closures, or mile upon mile of Games Lanes. The GRN is to help Keep Glasgow Moving.

What is the Games Route Network (GRN)? A 4.5 million investment to Keep Glasgow Moving Covers around 30km, out and back Just 13.5% will make use of dedicated lanes for Games travel When will it be in place? Work is underway and will continue into June Will be fully operational from 21 July

Core Route GRN

GRN Measures Games Lanes GAMES ROUTE NETWORK Location of Games Lanes

What is Local Area Traffic Management and Parking (LATM&P)? Traffic management to protect the residents and businesses around competition venues (like on event days around the football stadiums) Not like London 2012 measures. Less access control. Key objectives: Protect residents and businesses from informal spectator parking Ensure Games related traffic can access the venues

Victoria Infirmary www.getreadyglasgow.com

Victoria Infirmary www.getreadyglasgow.com

Supporting measures Around 1,000 cycle parking spaces will be provided across venues Cycle Hire in place for Games Time Additional capacity on core Glasgow rail routes that serve venues Additional capacity on the wider rail network Free public transport for ticket holders Park & Ride for spectators Shuttle buses to venues for spectators www.getreadyglasgow.com

Further Information Travel Advice for Business Handbook Guide to delivering to venues Code of Practice for Out of Hours Deliveries Further details of roads to be closed for road races Maps of road and public transport hotspots Guidance on delivery timings in restricted areas Code of Practice for Quiet Deliveries www.getreadyglasgow.com

We are asking businesses to plan using the 4 Rs and to use all the information we have available. Retime, Reroute, Re-mode, Reduce Retime - Reroute - Revise mode - Reduce - Starting earlier / later, deliveries outside of operational hours of LATM&P/GRN Avoid driving around venues at competition times, use a different station if yours is likely to be busy Could you walk or cycle for all or part of your journey? Could you pre order non perishables, could you reduce business travel? www.getreadyglasgow.com

Conclusions To keep Glasgow moving and businesses doing business will require a concerted effort from everyone. We are here to help businesses get ready for the Games.
