Cornell University Track & Field CORNELL UNIVERSITY SOUTHERN TIER H.S. INVITATIONAL BARTON HALL, CORNELL UNIVERSITY SATURDAY, JANUARY 9, 2016 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The 2016 Southern Tier High School Invitational will be held on Saturday, January 9 th, 2016. This meet includes a variety of relays, open distance and sprint hurdle events as well as a full complement of field events. We ask you to limit your entries to three individuals per running event and three per field event. Enter only one relay team per school per event. Please call for exceptions. Please read the following material carefully. Schools entering both boy s and girl s teams would pay $500.00 for both teams. Entry fee per individual is $20.00 if you are not fielding a complete team. Checks should be made out to CORNELL TRACK and mailed to prior to the meet date: Meet Director Cornell Track Southern Tier Invitational Bartels Hall Campus Rd. Cornell University Ithaca, NY 14853 ELIGIBILITY: This meet is open to all athletes that are currently eligible at your high school and NY State indoor track. Open athletes are not to be entered in this meet. New York State H.S. rules are followed.

ENTRY PROCEDURE: 1. E-mail Coach Artie Smith (acs1@cornell.edu) with your intent to compete by December 7, 2015. This step is important as we will only give you access to the DirectAthletics entry site if you e-mail us by December 7. 2. We will be using DirectAthletics for meet entries again this year. Entries will be due at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. If you have any questions about accessing the meet entry site on DirectAthletics, please e-mail Coach Artie Smith at acs1@cornell.edu. No additions are allowed after the entries are due on January 6. 3. Limit 3 in each individual event, 1 relay team. 4. No additions will be allowed once the entries are submitted on January 6. 5. Please report all scratches to the clerk of course prior to the scheduled event. ALL POSSIBLE ENTRIES ARE DUE BY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6 th AT NOON! NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED NOR ENTRY FEES REFUNDED AFTER THIS TIME! THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONS ACCEPTED THE DAY OF THE MEET!!! AWARDS: Medals, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Ribbons 4th, 5th, 6th RELAY SEED TIMES: Please be as accurate as possible concerning your relay seed times. Please list times you think will be run with the personnel running on each individual relay. FIELD EVENTS: All competitors will be given three attempts. The top eight individuals will be allowed three more attempts in their particular event. We will use two jumping pits to speed along the long jump, high jump and triple jump. Opening Height in the pole vault will be 6-6-Girls, Boys-8-6. Boy s High Jump will open at 5-6, girl s high jump at 4-6. Spikes measuring no more than 1/ 4 inch may be worn. DASH AND HURDLE EVENTS: Cornell will provide the only starting blocks that may be used. Heat winners and the next fastest times will advance to a final held later in the schedule. 1500/ 1600 AND 3000/ 3200 METER RUNS: If a runner is entered in one of these distance events he/ she may not double back in the other race. :

CORNELL UNIVERSITY GENERAL INFORMATION IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL BUSSES NOT PARK IN FRONT OF BARTON HALL AS THEY WILL BE TICKETED IF THIS OCCURS. PLEASE PARK ALL BUSSES IN THE VET SCHOOL LOT. WE WILL SEND YOU A PARKING MAP!!! TICKET CHARGE FOR NON COMPETITORS We will be charging a meet ticket entry for non-competitors of $5.00 adult, $3.00 students above 10 years old. LOCKER ROOMS: Showers are available for your team use in TEAGLE HALL directly adjacent to the Barton Hall track facility. Please furnish your own towels. Cornell will not be responsible for any valuables misplaced or lost. SPIKES: Only 1/ 4 inch spikes may be worn on the REKA-FLEX surface. You may wear spikes in all jumping and running events. RULES: The meet will be governed by NEW YORK STATE HIGH SCHOOL rules. WARM-UPS: No warm-ups or team camps in the infield area. We want to keep this area as clear as possible. If you are not involved in a jumping event you will be asked to leave the infield. You may warm-up on the track when races are not in session and on the concrete area behind the bleachers. TEAM SEATING: Please seat your groups in any of the bleacher areas. Do not assemble your team on the arena floor. REPORTING TO CLERK: Please report to the clerk at least 20 minutes prior to your event start or when you are called over the loudspeaker. SCRATCHES: Please report all scratches during the course of the meet to clerk of the course. TRAINERS: No trainer will be available during the meet. You are responsible for your athletic training needs!!!
