The Georgia High School Rodeo Association has invited us to their annual Multi-State High School Rodeo. Please note that this rodeo will be hosted by the Georgia High School Rodeo Association and WE (NCHSRA) will be handling the CALL-INS and ENTRY fees ONLY and WE WILL BE sending the entry fees and call-in information to Georgia. NCHSRA DOES NOT handle ARMBANDS, & STALL RESERVATIONS. You will need to complete the STALL & ARMBAND form included in this packet and MAIL FORM AND CHECK PAYABLE TO GHSRA TO THE ADDRESS ON THE FROM BY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2015 NCHSRA DOES NOT handle CAMPING RESERVATIONS. 2 MONEY DUE: for ENTRY & SHIRT FEES ONLY, postmarked by October 12, 2015 ENTRY FEES-- Fees for each event will be $50.00 for the weekend for each event. This covers both goes. $10.00 of the $50.00 will be placed in a jackpot against other states. Jackpot will be split and paid on each round. Awards will be given on the average. There is a $10.00 grounds fee for each contestant entered which is included in your entry fee. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER 10/12/15...SO IF YOU CALL IN 10/5/15 BE SURE YOU ARE GOING! ENTRY FEES PAYMENT-- Entry & Shirt Fees need to be paid prior to the rodeo, and must be MAILED IN! The Entry Fees must be postmarked by October 12, 2015 so that we can get all of our contestant fees to the Georgia Rodeo Association. Crumpler, NC 28617 ORDER OF EVENTS-- Bareback, Goat Tying, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Pole Bending and Bull Riding. **Depending on the amount of entries in Bareback and Saddle Bronc, these 2 events may be run at the same time with Goat Tying to follow. There will be no slack in Bareback or Saddle Bronc. CHURCH SERVICE-- There will be a church service held on Sunday, 12:30pm at the arena. GRAND ENTRY-- We will have a grand entry at all performances. The themes for the grand entries will be posted on the GHSRA website. Please bring something appropriate for these grand entries. Sponsor Flags, Queens and States will be presented at each Grand Entry. SHOWDOWN-SHOWDOWN-- The Showdown-Showdown will be held immediately after the 2:00 pm performance on Saturday. Each State will have 10 minutes to showcase their State's talents. The lights must remain on and no pyrotechnics. $250.00 will be awarded to the winning State. We will be looking for help organizing something great for this! We will need everyone to participate. Please contact Kate Scott or Bailey Tate if you are interested in participating. Kate Scott-jkscott@rtmc.net SPECIAL GROUND RULES-- 1. Thirty (30) second time limits will be in effect for all times events. 2. In all roping events, the one loop rule will be in effect. 3. Western attire is required for contestants at all times in Reeves Arena along with your back number. AWARDS-- Will be given to the average winners and All-around Cowboy and All-around Cowgirl. In case of a tie, awards will be duplicated for winners. Reserve Champion ties will be broken by a coin flip. JACKPOT-- Jackpot will be paid on each go. The money for the first go will be ready to pick up 1 hour after the 1 st go is completed. The money for the second go will be ready to pick up within 30 minutes of the event completing. If you are not going to be present on Sunday afternoon they will mail your money or sent it via our NC designee. POINTS-- NCHSRA members will only be competing against the other NCHSRA members entered in the rodeo as far as points. So for example, if we have 4 barrel racers go, and at the rodeo they place 3 rd, 7 th, 9 th, and
3 12 th...they would be able to get 10, 9, 8, and 7 points, respectively, as the 3 rd placing, would be 1 st place amongst our NCHSRA members. AND, points can be kept on the year-end standings from PERRY, GA rodeo OR the VA Multi-State Rodeo coming up in April, but not both. TEE-SHIRTS & HOODIES for Sale: You can Pre-order a short sleeve Tee-Shirt ($15), Long Sleeve Tee- Shirt ($20), or Hoodie ($30). They will be pre ordered and there WILL NOT be a vendor on site. The Contestants names from all states will be printed in the design on the back. The front will have the Southeastern Showdown logo below on it. ADVANCED TICKETS AND HORSE STALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY FILLING OUT THE FOLLOWING FORM AND SENDING IT TO GEORGIA, NOT NORTH CAROLINA!! ADMISSION-- Contestants are free with back number. Advance weekend admission armbands can be purchased on the pre-order form attached for $15.00. Armbands purchased in advance will be available for pick up at the arena entry door from the barns during each performance. Children 12 and under admitted free. Admission at the door will be $8.00 per day. Advance purchase must be received by Georgia High School Rodeo Association no later than October 29, 2015, so mail them earlier!! HORSE STALLS-- There are over 600 covered horse stalls. Stalls are concrete and Shavings are NOT provided. Shavings are for sale at the Fairgrounds or you may bring your own. EACH CONTESTANT MUST PUT THEIR HORSE OR HORSES IN A STALL WITH ONLY ONE HORSE PER STALL. NO HORSES CAN BE TIED TO TRAILERS AND NO PENS CAN BE SET UP AT TRAILERS. THIS IS AN AGRICENTER RULE. The cost is $40.00 per stall for the weekend IN ADVANCE and needs to be preordered on the form attached. We will assign stalls according to the reservations. Stalls will be $65.00 at the RODEO. STALL FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED WITHOUT A VET OR MEDICAL EXCUSE. STALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL RODEO ASSOCIATION NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 29, 2015, SO MAIL THEM EARLIER!! RV HOOK-UPS-- There are plenty of campsites with full hook-ups. Arrange for any campsites directly with the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter to make your reservations. Your reservation can be made by calling 1-478-988-6557 or through their website, www.gnfa.com. Cost is $25.00 per night. No generators. Please be advised that you will not be permitted admittance to the fairgrounds before 12:00 noon, Friday, November 6 th. The Agricenter has a security gate with personnel on duty 24 hours. In an emergency you can call 1-478-98-6557. They are there only for assistance and have no connections with the rodeo. CHRISTMAS TOYS-- Toys will be collected, this year for the Perry Volunteer Outreach. Christmas will be right around the corner and we can make a difference to a child who would not perhaps otherwise have a present on Christmas morning. Toys will be collected and displayed at the arena entrance; if you can help it will be appreciated. Participation will also count towards the spirit award.
4 HORSE HEALTH PAPERS-- Be sure you have a NEGATIVE COGGINS on your horse. Also, check with your state regarding health papers required when crossing state lines, to and from the rodeo.
