On Tuesday, May 10th Kenowa Hills High School is offering sophomore students the opportunity to attend the 2nd annual "Career Quest" at DeVos Place. This is an opportunity for 10th graders to explore and ask questions from Grand Rapids area companies about careers, job prospects, and educational avenues to help achieve a potential career in the various in-demand industries. There is no cost, but space is limited. Deadline to sign up is Tuesday, May 3 in the KHHS Student Services Office.

Seniors, We are now collecting information on scholarships that you have been offered so that we can recognize you at the Student Recognition Ceremony on May 20 at 7:30 AM. Kenowa Hills beat Muskegon High School 26-0 and 34-1. Hitting leaders for the game included: Sophomore Gracie Teerman with 3 hits (2 doubles and 1 triple) and 5 RBI's Senior Mallory Hoatlin with 2 hits (1 double and 1 triple) and 2 RBI's Pitching: Mallory Hoatlin pitched the win for Kenowa, striking out 6, walking 1, allowing 1 hit and no earned runs.

Varsity Baseball had a double header with Covenant Christian High School. Kenowa won one game 10-0 and tied the other game 0-0. Five runs in the first three innings allowed Kenowa Hills Knights to put the game away early. An RBI single by Christian Falicki, an RBI single by Eli Spencer, an RBI double by Cade Cintorino, and an RBI single by Zach Kregel during the first inning helped Kenowa Hills put some runs on the board early. Spencer racked up three RBIs on one hit for Kenowa Hills Knights Varsity.

Last night the boys and girls track teams faced off against Mona Shores. After many solid performances, both teams came away with their 2nd win in the conference. The boys score was 80 to 57 with the girls winning 95 to 41. The girls were led by Madi Goen, who had three first place finishes including a new school record in the 2 mile run with a time of 11 minutes and 6 seconds. Senior Megan Kupris also had two wins in both the shot put and discus. Kirra Body set a new personal best of 30 feet 7.5 inches in the shot put, helping the throws to a 3rd place finish. Mackenzie Stewart was 2nd in high jump, Kelsey Gruzin 2nd in long jump with a new personal best of 15 feet 8 inches, and Maria Donihue 3rd place in the mile and 2 mile both with personal bests. Great job ladies! The boys were led by Senior Zach Kunst who won the shot put and discus. He set a new school record in the discus of 169 feet 4.5 inches. Tyler Postema won the 2 mile with a personal best of 10 minutes and 55 seconds. Gabe Quinn contributed to the winning 4 by 800, the open 400 meter dash, and the 800 meter run. Sam Harpst had a huge personal best in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet and 3 inches. Other top performances included Mitch Armstrong winning the pole vault and Isaac Steers who ran an amazing and heroic last quarter to hold off Mona Shores in the 4 by 400 meter relay. Nice work guys!
