Dr. Jennifer Schiele Ian Lamont 4-8-14 Lakeridge Football Plan of Action It is our desire at Lakeridge High School to get the right people in the right roles with the right focus using the proper strategies. 1. Coaches A) Head Coach i) Hiring Committee: Curt Sheinin- Former LOSD School Board Member; Current Lacrosse Head Coach Dan Dutton- Former Head of Lakeridge Youth Football; Parent of rising 11 th grader Jared Holum- Former Head of Lakeridge Youth Football; Parent of rising 10 th grader Tony Damas- Current Head of LYF; Parent of rising 8 th & 6 th grader Jim Rivera- Current Lakeridge SAC Member; Parent of graduating 12 th grader Dr. Jennifer Schiele- Principal Lakeridge HS Ian Lamont- Athletic Director Lakeridge HS The seven person hiring committee interviewed six candidates out of a fourteen person applicant pool. The committee recommended that two of the candidates be taken forward as finalists. ii) 2 nd Round Interviews Dr. William Korach- Superintendent LOSD Dr. Heather Beck- Incoming Superintendent LOSD Dr. Jennifer Schiele- Principal Lakeridge HS Ian Lamont- Athletic Director Lakeridge HS The Head Coach will have a coaching philosophy that values character. The coach s training and certification will be completed before the season begins. The Head Coach will not focus on only wins and losses or technical competence but will be a solid role model for our athletes. a) The Head Coach will institute a Player Code of Conduct Policy and Contract (included). b) The Head Coach will institute a Coach Code of Conduct Policy and Contract (included). c) The Head Coach will institute a Parent Code of Conduct Policy and Contract (included). d) The Head Coach will institute a Team Clean Competition Committee.

e) The Head Coach and AD will schedule a referee, players, and coaches clinic in the spring. f) The Head Coach and AD will hire OSAA Certified Referees for the Blue-White Pre-Season Scrimmage. g) The Head Coach will conduct a pre-season parent meeting and a players meeting. h) The Head Coach will conduct a mid-season parent meeting. The Head Coach will not receive payment during the season from any outside agencies while being paid by the LOSD. B) District Employed Assistant Coaches a) The assistant coaches will be hired by a committee including the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Vice Principal. They will make a recommendation to the LHS Principal. b) The assistant coaches will sign and follow the Coach s Code of Conduct Policy. It will be the Head Coach s responsibility to see that all LOSD assistant coaches abide by the Code of Conduct. C) Volunteer Coaches a) The volunteer coaches will be hired by a committee including the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Vice Principal. The committee will make a recommendation to the LHS Principal. b) The volunteer coaches will sign and follow the Coach s Code of Conduct Policy. It will be the Head Coach s responsibility to see that all LOSD volunteer coaches abide by the Code of Conduct. 2) Transfer Students Transfer students will have the following certificates and forms on file in the Athletic Office: A) Eligible Student Transfer Certificate B) Intent to Transfer Certificate C) Transcript D) Address a) On track to graduate table 3) Sportsmanship A) All players will sign and abide by a Player Code of Conduct Policy and Contract. It will be the Head Coach s responsibility to make sure student athletes are adhering to the Code of Conduct Policy throughout the season. B) All players will sign the Personal Foul Code of Conduct for Unnecessary Roughness and Unsportsmanlike Behavior (included).

4) Checks and Balances A) The head coach and AD will meet every Monday during the season to review the season and all Codes of Conduct and Policies and to check on progress towards goals. 5) Coach Certifications A) AD will be solely responsible for all coaching certifications. B) AD will meet with Principal on August 12 th to check Fall Coaching Certification. C) AD will meet with Principal on November 10 th to check Winter Coaching Certification. D) AD will meet with Principal on February 24 th to check Spring Coaching Certification.

Lakeridge Football Player Code of Conduct Contract 1. I will be part of the most respectful team on the field on any given day. 2. I will help opposing players after each play. 3. I will never question or talk to the referee about a decision made. 4. I will never partake in trash talk or name calling of any sort towards anyone, including but not limited to the opposing team, our own teammates or a spectator. 5. No foul or inappropriate language shall be used: a. On the field during practice or before/after a game b. On the bus c. In the locker rooms 6. I understand that I am a member of our school s athletic program during season and therefore I represent our school and community above anything else and must be on my best behavior AT ALL TIMES. This includes, but is not limited to: a. NO going to the bathroom unless in a facility designated for such activity. b. NO breaking the law of any sort, such as throwing food out of a bus window, littering, stealing, vandalism, indecent exposure or fighting. 7. I will do my best to always be present and on time to scheduled events. If I know ahead of time that I will be absent or late, or have to leave early, the coach will be notified and made aware of my situation. 8. I agree to notify the coach if I see any one of the rules listed above being broken by another teammate. I will do my best to aid my teammate in stopping that action and notify the coach. 9. I understand these rules do not only apply to the field, but in my lives outside of events and I will maintain our high standards: a. Before, during and after school hours b. During weekends 10. I understand that if I break this contract under one of the above rules that I must be prepared to face and participate in the consequences set forth by any of the coaches or athletic director for Lakeridge High School. Possible consequences may be but are not limited to: a. Limited to no playing time for any number of games within reason. b. Removal from the high school program for the season. WE UNDERSTAND AND HAVE READ ALL OF THE ABOVE AND BY SIGNING BELOW SIGNIFY OUR COMPLIANCE TO THE ABOVE RULES. Player Signature

Football Personal Foul Code of Conduct UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS 1. If a player receives an unnecessary roughness personal foul which can include, but not be limited to a late hit, grasp of face mask, illegal block below the knees, blow to the head, horse collar, or roughing the kicker, that player must immediately exit the game. 2. If a player receives a 2 nd unnecessary roughness penalty in the game, he may sit for the rest of the half. 3. A 3 rd unnecessary roughness penalty may be cause for ejection for the remainder of the game and may result in a suspension for the next game. 4. If a player receives a total of 5 (five) unnecessary roughness penalties throughout the season, a meeting between the Head Coach, player and parents will occur. The player may be dismissed from the team. UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOR 1. If a player receives a personal foul penalty of unsportsmanlike behavior, which can include but not be limited to taunting, excessive celebration, or speaking back to officials, that player will sit out the rest of the half. 2. A 2 nd unsportsmanlike penalty will result in ejection from the game and may result in a suspension for the rest of the season. If the player receives a total of 3 (three) unsportsmanlike behavior penalties, a meeting with the Head Coach, the player and his parents will occur. The player may be dismissed from the team.

Lakeridge Parent Code of Conduct Contract 1. We will be the most respectful fans at any sporting event on any given day. 2. We will never partake in trash talk, name calling, or harassment of any sort towards anyone, including but not limited to the opposing team, our own teammates, officials or other spectators. 3. No foul or inappropriate language shall be used during competitions and practices. 4. We understand that we are representatives of our school s athletic program and therefore must be on respectful behavior AT ALL TIMES. 5. We agree to notify the coach if we see any of the rules listed above being broken. 6. Lakeridge administration has the right to remove any individual from a game or event if any of the above rules are broken. I UNDERSTAND AND HAVE READ ALL OF THE ABOVE AND BY SIGNING BELOW SIGNIFY COMPLIANCE TO THE ABOVE RULES. Parent Signature

Lakeridge Coaching Staff Code of Conduct Contract 1. We will be the most respectful team on the field on any given day. 2. My team will help opposing players after each play. 3.
