SCHS GIRLS TENNIS 2017 On behalf of San Clemente High School and the coaching staff, we welcome you to the 2017 tennis program. We look forward to getting to know and working with your daughter and are committed to running a highly respected program to which we can all be proud. Up front, we want to make sure you are aware that: ***Please note that the Constitution of the State of California requires that we provide a public education to you free of charge. Your right to a free education is for all school/educational activities, whether curricular or extracurricular, and whether you get a grade for the activity or class. Subject to certain exceptions, your right to a free public education means that we cannot require you or your family to purchase materials, supplies, equipment or uniforms for any school activity, nor can we require you or your family to pay security deposits for access, participation, materials, or equipment. *** Once again, with budget cuts and in order to try to meet the goals of our program, which includes professional instruction, court and fence maintenance, team meals, equipment, balls, sweat shirts and t-shirts, tournament fees, Booster club fees and reduced banquet costs we need your help. The district pays only one stipend of the 6-7; all other coaches stipends must be raised. Unfortunately, this continues to mean if we can t raise the money, we can t run the JV or Frosh/ Soph teams. If you also have ideas for fundraising we would love to hear your ideas! DONATION REQUESTS: Frosh / Soph $295 Junior Varsity $320 Varsity $350 Silver Participation $400 Gold Participation $500 Checks can be made out to SCHS Girls Tennis (SCHS Sweatshirt to all Gold Members) Parent volunteer drivers are needed!!! Parent drivers alleviate both the expense and inconvenience of buses. The cost to now bus teams to matches has skyrocketed! It is almost impossible to play away matches with the charges that teams are being forced to pay. As well, students miss less class time and return home in a timely manner if a parent can drive students to away games. CUSD requires a standard driver form be filled out by volunteer drivers. We have these forms available. Snack Schedule: Traditionally, parents provide snacks for the team each match. A snack schedule assignment will be made up for the team and attached to the schedule.
