Emily called the meeting to order at 5:01pm. UPAC 11-4-14 Trivia Tuesday How many board members favorite color is purple? o 4 o Annie gets the point. Guest Speakers Dance Marathon o Julia Jones is here to talk about a dance marathon. This will be for spring semester and it is for the children s network. o University Iowa has been doing it for 20 years. o Dance Marathon is a fundraiser hosted by the child advocacy club in support of the Gunderson Lutheran children s hospital in La Crosse. In honor of our 6 herpes, we will be dancing, playing games, and enjoying entertainment for 12 straight hours. o March 28 th 10am-10pm o We have 6 heroes that we would be doing it for. Each hero has his or her own baseball card. o They work for a company called donor drive. They are hoping for groups to get involved. This is the website for people to donate. o You can register as a group or individual, but they are encouraging groups. The cost is $15 per person to be involved. o Why UPAC should invest? Helping CAST give back and the club would be giving back too. Meeting with families who are in need of help. Being part of something that will be a thing people will look forward to every year. Charity. Helping another club on campus to fulfill a dream CAST has. Discount on Registration fee. UPAC will be advertised during the event $300 for food for people and decorations. o Colleges against cancer club loves to get involved in these things have you talked to them about it? Emails have gone around to all the clubs and they haven t heard back from anyone yet. UPAC is the first club that has answered. o Is it $15 per person or $15 per group? We would give UPAC a discount but it would be per person. o Think it would be really cool and something new. Good way for students to get involved in more fundraising.

o Where is the event going to be held? Big gym or little gym. They have yet to figure that out. UPAC does have the big gym reserved for March 29 th. o How much money is each teams goal? No goal, but $15 per person to be involved. o Would you be worried if we have spring concert on that day? We talked about it but we decided to stay on that date for Dance a thon. o Andy makes a motion to help co-sponsor Child Advocacy Club with Dance Marathon on March 28 th, 2015 spending $300. Seconded by Marah. No discussion Motion passes with 1 abstaining. Special Events On-Campus Thank you to everyone who helped at Grocery Bingo last week! Finals edition Grocery Bingo o We could do Wednesday December 3 rd in the Smaug or we could do December 1 st in East Hall. December 1 st is the Monday after thanksgiving break. o If we have it on Monday right after thanksgiving the turn out might be poor because students might not need food. o Most think it will be better on Wednesday because students might want food by Wednesday and there are less night classes on Wednesday. o Members think Wednesday would be better. o Ashley makes a motion to host finals edition grocery bingo Wednesday December 3rd in the Smaug starting at 7pm spending no more then $300. Seconded by Ashley Beaird No discussion Motion passes unanimously Cirque Zuma Zuma sign up o It is on this Friday! o Be there 6:15pm. Doors at 6:30pm and show starting at 7pm. o Job descriptions Special Events Off-Campus $3 Movie night sign-up Watching curtains: They will be having curtains up behind the stage by tech support in the hall for the dressing room. We will need to watch those curtains to make sure no one goes through there. Watching the stage because they will have so much stuff on the stage and we don t want people messing with their stuff. Doors/hole punches If the jobs fill up make sure to just write your name on the back. We love all the help we can get.

o Be there 10:45pm o We are opening the doors 5 minutes earlier because there is a movie starting at 11:20pm. We want the UPAC members to get there early and be ready. o Jobs: Crowd control outside so we can separate everyone if they have a ticket or don t have a ticket. This will hopefully help with the crowd when they go inside. Doors Cleaning crew Tickets $3 Bowling Night o November 22 nd o We will have a shuttle for November 22 nd it is on Saturday. o The van is already reserved. o Offering rides every 20 minutes to the bowling alley. o This would be good for the cold months because it gets really cold outside. o We will be picking up people outside in the Minne parking lot. o Jenaya makes a motion to have $3 bowling night on November 22nd at Westgate Bowl. Selling tickets to students with a valid WSU ID for $3. Tickets go on sale Monday Nov 17 th in the UPAC office. Doors open at 11pm. Shuttle providing rides every 20 minutes starting at 10:20pm, 10:40pm, 11pm and 11:20pm. Rides will be provided back to campus once event is done as well. The applications are on the small table in the office.

o We are not sure how many people will be sent to NACA this year. It will depend on if we are going to Nationals or Regionals. o Everyone should apply if you are interested! If you go to both events on Friday, you will an extra event point. o We are only making one event required. You can go to both to boost the attendance. There is going to be no meeting next Tuesday. We will not be having office hours on Tuesday either! We are not having committee meetings tonight. Go vote tonight. When we talk about spring concert make sure to think about the campus as a whole not just you. o Don t talk about it outside of Executive Session. We have had the artists back down because it was being talked about around campus before they signed contracts. So it is very important to keep it quiet! Joe/Tracy Meeting adjourned at 6:00pm
