Golf Tips for Juniors The best age to start playing golf is when you become interested in the game. Kids should enjoy the time they spend at the golf course. Juniors have great natural ability. Don t be too precise on swing mechanics or anything else. Try to keep the hands together as one unit and swing. Clubs for juniors should have more loft and be the proper length and weight. The length of a 5 iron should measure about to their belly button. A professional should look at a junior players swing maybe once a month to help guide their game on track. Whatever you want to do- play or practice that s the game plan you should follow. I d rather see juniors play more and practice their short game by playing games with their friends. With your 7-iron, play the ball position in the middle of your stance. As you swing through the ball, you should take a divot. When playing your driver, tee the ball high and play the ball position more off your front foot. Just clip the tee and swing to a full follow through. 1. No Blue Jeans Junior Dress Code 2.
