Dates are August 12th - 14th from 12pm - 3:30pm All juniors are welcome that can walk and carry their bag for 9 holes. Each day will consist of a 1 hour clinic and skills competition followed by a 9 hole Ryder Cup style match. $125 per junior for the week which includes a team favor and prizes Day 1 - Europe Captain Jeff and USA Captain Bryan will draft their respective teams, go over the rules for the week, a clinic and a 9 hole match Day 2 - Skills competition, full swing clinic with video instruction and 9 hole match Day 3 - Final skills competition, short game clinic, putting contest and 9 hole match
Junior Golf Team The junior golf team is a great way for your golfer to begin playing in a competitive environment. If you have a junior between the ages of 10-14 who is able to walk and carry their bag for nine holes, there is no better place to start than here. The team will start on June 25th and go thru August 6th. We will meet every Wednesday at 3:30-5:00. for an organized nine hole match with your friends and playing competitors. There will also be a fun format of play each week. There will be no cost for participating on the team. Purpose To provide Wampanoag County Club junior golfers with programs and activities to create lifelong golfers that learn the joy of playing the game of golf. Vision Our vision is to develop Wampanoag Country Club junior golfers with the correct knowledge and etiquette while creating an environment where golf is a sport with extreme emphasis on having FUN. The program is designed to meet learning and developmental needs for players of all levels from beginners to Junior Elite Players. Mission The main mission of the Wampanoag Junior Golf Program is to attract, maintain, and most importantly develop the talent that each junior golfer possesses. Junior Golf School The summer junior golf clinics will correctly start your child on the right path to learning the game of golf. All aspects of the game will be covered during the summer; driving, putting, chipping, fairway wood shots, sand play, rules, and etiquette. Each week we will go over the fundamentals of the full swing, as well as have a skills competition. The six sessions are: Week 1 - June 24* - 26 Week 2 - July 1-3 NO GOLF July 8-10 Week 3 - July 15* - 17 Week 4 - July 22* - 24 Week 5 - July 29-31 Week 6 - Aug 5-7 Guidelines to be a Golfer Respect Preserve the spirit and integrity of the game. Take care in maintaining the course conditions. That includes remembering to replace your divots, rake bunkers after use, repair your ball marks and put waste in the proper containers. Sneakers and soft-spike shoes are appropriate for play. Junior Times for Play and Practice Members always have priority regarding tee times and practice. Please follow the scheduled times for play and practice. Responsibility Players must check in with the Golf Shop before beginning play. They should be ready to play when it is their time to tee off. The age groups meet during the following times: 6-9 will meet from 10:00-11:30 10-14 will meet from 1:00-2:30 *June 24, July 15, & July 22 ALL AGES 1:30-3:00* There will be no golf July 8th - July 10th Cost is $30 per day or $60 per week. Attire Neat and acceptable attire needs to be worn by all golfers and their guests. Members are responsible for making guests aware of the dress code. Men s and boy s shirts must have a collar. Women s and young ladies shirts must have either a collar or sleeves. Please note that tank tops, sleeveless with noncollared tops, warm-ups, denim, running, swimming, or cut-off style shorts are NOT acceptable attire. When wearing a hat, the brim must face forward and shirttails must be neatly tucked.
Golf After School Girls-Golf-Galore Announcing the 2014 Spring Golf After School Program, sessions start April 23rd!! Young golfers from ages 6-14 will benefit from this unique opportunity to practice and play golf at Wamp. Bryan and Jeff will be coaching these clinics. Two Sessions each week Wed. & Thurs. 4-5 PM Come for one, or come for all. $20 Per Session, every 5th session is free.
