BACKPACK NOTICE APRIL 30, 2010 Dear TCCS Family, Here are this week s notices: Please look for 6 separate PDF attachments that concern the upcoming Board elections as well as the position papers for the candidates. Contact the main office if you have any questions regarding the upcoming election. NJASK testing for grades 7 & 8 concluded today (aside from a few make-up tests that will take place next week). Grades 5 & 6 will test next Monday-Thursday (two days for language arts and two days for math), and grades 3 & 4 will be testing the following week. Again, please make sure that students arrive to school on time, fully rested, and prepared with any necessary materials (#2 pencils, calculators, etc.). Feel free to call me at school with any specific questions/concerns. There will be a celebration for Cinco de Mayo on May 5 th with Spanish-style food for the students at lunch and a musical performance that starts at 2 PM. Look for more information about Cinco de Mayo later in this backpack. Thank you to all the parents who agreed to donate items to our celebration! All students are bringing home a hard copy of an order form for Aesop Bops, a great one-man show for families that will be featured at TCCS on Sunday, May 16 th. Please return the bottom portion of the order form with your payment to the TCSCO mailbox in the main office; you can also return it to your child s homeroom teacher. TCSCO will be selecting its officers for the 2010/2011 school year during its meeting on May 24, 2010. If you are interested in joining the TCSCO Board for 2010/2011, or if you would like to nominate someone for the TCSCO Board, please contact TCSCO Secretary Jim Burger at 201-530-0377 or jim@wholenote.com. One of our PBL classes will be collecting items for school kits to help children around the world who are less fortunate. There is a flyer about this later in the backpack. Thank you for any help you can offer.

The girls softball team, the first in school history, is 5-0 under the leadership of Coach D. Keep up the great season! There is a separate PDF flyer about this summer s camp with all of the weekly themes and activities in full detail. Please help spread the word and see Mr. D. if you have questions about the program. There is an upcoming babysitting certification course on May 20 th and 21 st at TCCS. This is sponsored by the Red Cross and designed for students between the ages of 11 and 15. Look for a separate flyer regarding this course. Finally, look for a memo from Beverly and Melissa regarding a special fundraiser related to your child s artwork. Have a great weekend! Craig
