GE Healthcare Centiva/5 Critical Care Ventilator Meet a new level of expectations
Intergrating performance and value Marry form and function In an environment where time and space are tight, the design and flexibility of the Centiva/5 offers you greater convenience in your practice. The compact size of the Centiva/5 frees up space in your cramped critical care rooms. The comparatively small ventilator engine can be strategically placed out of the way while its detachable monitor and control panel can be mounted on the bed or wall to keep the area around the patient clear for ease of movement. But that is only the beginning with the Centiva/5.
The Centiva/5 helps you help patients by providing premium ventilation features. It makes use of Airway Resistance Compensation (ARC) to deliver and support breaths, overcoming the inherent resistance of an artificial airway. Non-Invasive Mask Ventilation (NIV) is available to help you avoid the use of an invasive artificial airway. The Centiva/5 also insures its performance with Compliance and Resistance Compensation (CRC). The CRC checks the breathing circuit and automatically compensates for the patient circuit compliance, resistance and for leaks. The Centiva/5 also measures and compensates the flow and O 2 concentration that is delivered through a special port that drives a pneumatic nebulizer in synchrony with the patient s breathing. The Centiva/5 comes standard with advanced modes of ventilation including Volume Control (VCV and AssistVCV) and Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV-VC) with selectable Pressure Support (PSV). Volume controlled breaths can be Pressure Limited (PLV) to maintain safe and efficient ventilation. The Centiva/5 also offers pressure controlled modes implemented as Bi-Level, a patient synchronized mode where the patient can inhale and exhale at any time during the breath cycle (Active Exhalation Valve). Also in Bi-Level mode, breaths can be Pressure Supported (PSV) during the exhalation phase giving you access to highly inverted I:E ratios (down to 9:9:1) which allows for implementation of pressure release mode strategies. Spontaneous breathing modes, such as CPAP and PSV, are also offered. The Centiva/5 is equipped with the above modes as well as adjustable ByFlow, adjustable Flow Trigger and adjustable termination criteria, continuous leak compensation and the ability to use the ventilator Non Invasively (NIV), which provides efficient ventilation to help you support a wide range of patients.
Powerful, compact and versatile Relying on years of experience with clinicians and patients worldwide, GE Healthcare knows that the shift is never over in the critical care unit. One of our solutions for the ever present, ever challenging demands of this lifesaving environment is the Centiva/5 Critical Care Ventilator. It s the first ventilator of its size to offer the highest level of performance with simple, direct operation allowing the clinicians in your unit fully utilize all the capabilities this unit offers. Compact ventilator with detachable display allowing flexible placement on a mobile cart or pendant/shelf mounted Two display sizes to choose from: 6.5 and 12 touch screen Capable of ventilating adult to pediatric patients and optionally newborns Familiar Datex-Ohmeda user interface Alternate power source-internal and external batteries Flexible cart with rails for mounting heated humidifier and patient circuit arm Optional EVAir03 medical air compressor, which can be integrated inside the mobile cart Optional cylinder kit which can be fitted in the cart which in conjunction with the external battery pack facilitates transporting critically ill patient within in your hospital Easy to clean and maintain exhalation valve ensuring short turn around times between patients Making patients the number one priority Centiva/5 is designed to help safeguard your patients Power off disregard. Power cannot be turned off while a patient is being ventilated Automatic Patient Detection (APD). Sounds a high priority alarm and automatically activates the start ventilation menu when a patient is connected while the venilator is in standby Battery backup. Internal battery provides 30 minutes of backup power
The first breath is safeguarded So is the second. So is the third, and fourth, and every breath that follows with the assistance of the Centiva/5. Our ventilator provides reliability when you need it, and even more importantly, in the way your patient needs it. The Centiva/5 safeguards spontaneously breathing patients by offering CPAP/PSV mode with fully adjustable Apnea backup ventilation. The ventilator is designed to allow you to preset the unit in standby mode and be ready during patient admission. With the Automatic Patient Detection (APD) feature, the Centiva/5 will alert you and come out of standby and begin ventilation when a patient is connected. By the same mechanism the Centiva/5 cannot be placed in Standby or be turned off while a patient remains connected to the patient circuit. The Centiva/5 offers an Automatic Suction Routine (ASR) feature. ASR helps nurses with automatic pre- and post-oxygenation and places the ventilator into standby during the suction procedure. The real value of the Centiva/5 You don t have to compromise performance to work with a ventilator that is simple to operate. On the contrary, the Centiva/5 enhances performance with easy-to-use tools that put your focus where it should be. On the patient. The familiar Datex-Ohmeda user interface is employed for straightforward operation. Soft keys and simple menu navigation help eliminate confusion and allow new staff to be trained quickly. The monitor is detachable for greater accessibility. View full color pressure and flow waveforms and displays of set and measured parameters. Alarms clearly state conditions and warnings in plain language. You can also rely on the Centiva/5 for an automatic system check to maintain the ready status of the machine. Alternatively, you can bypass the system check with ease in an emergency ventilation situation. With only three parts that come in direct contact with patient exhalation, the detachment, cleaning and sterilization process of the Centiva/5 ventilator is minimal, thus saving valuable time and money.
Looking out for them, by looking after itself To assist you and help safeguard patients, careful checks and backup systems have been installed into the Centiva/5. It monitors value defaults during the switching of modes, and is programmed with automatic ventilation and alarm default settings for adult, pediatric and newborn categories. In addition, the Power off disregard feature makes it impossible to turn off the power or switch to standby mode when a patient is being ventilated. The Centiva/5 is also equipped with an internal battery with 30 minutes of backup power in the event of a pulled plug or power outage.
Unleash the power of the Centiva/5 When you choose the Centiva/5 with the larger 12 touch screen you can enhance the operation of this ventilator with a host of additional features, which allow even more efficient and streamlined patient workflow. Monitor the patient condition and evaluate weaning readiness by performing intrinsic PEEP measurements, RSBI and a unique indicator that allows you to visually evaluate how the work of breathing is shared between the patient and the ventilator Follow the patient s condition and monitor and document ventilation by having access to over 12 days of trend data and over 1000 events: settings changes out and alarm activation/deactivations (optional capability) Choose a hybrid ventilation mode, Bi-Level VG where the clinician sets a target mandatory tidal volume and the ventilator delivers pressure controlled synchronized breaths while modulating the inspiratory pressure to target the set tidal volume as the patient s condition changes. Get the assurance and familiarity of a volume-controlled ventilation mode without compromising on all the advantages that BiLevel Pressure Ventilation, with the ability to breathe spontaneously at any time, offers you (optional capability) Ventilating in Bi-Level VG Viewing patient trends Startup screen
