Medical Oxygen Concentrator Systems
Medical Oxygen is a critical and important commodity to all Heath Care Facilities (HCF s)
How is Oxygen Supplied? The supply of Oxygen to the HCF can typically be done in one of two ways. Depending on the size and needs of the HCF, Oxygen can be supplied by: An Oxygen Supply Company, or The HCF can produce it s own oxygen by using an Oxygen Concentrator (OC) System
Gas Supply Companies Oxygen can be delivered by: High Pressure Gas Cylinders (smaller size HCF s) Bulk Liquid Storage Tanks (larger size HCF s)
Gas Supply Companies Typically Charge Rental Price of the Storage Equipment (either HP cylinders or Bulk storage tanks) Delivery charge for supplying either HP Oxygen cylinders or Liquid Oxygen in bulk storage (fuel surcharges may apply) Price per cubic meter of Oxygen Gas delivered
These charges by the Oxygen Gas Supply Company can be significant to the HCF s operations on an annual basis!
How much can you save? For the we estimate these costs could be as high as $ per cubic meter $. per cubic foot, or $ M per year With an OC system this could be reduced by %.
ON Site Oxygen Concentrator An alternative source of Oxygen supply considered by HCFs, is to use an ON Site Oxygen Concentrator System to produce the Oxygen, and supply it to it s distribution network.
Advantages of VPSA Technology Fast start-up and cycle times, which reduces overall power consumption Low operating cost less than $1/ K cylinder Higher output pressure 85 psi Long life, low maintenance 3 min. Start up for each cycle of oxygen concentration Units can be containerized to allow for installation in existing facilities without additional space Small footprint allows for duplexing or triplexing
How it Works Ambient Air Oxygen Concentrator System Oxygen Supply 95% O 2 Exhaustion of Other Gases (mostly Nitrogen)
Having a HCF produce it s own Oxygen, the safe and reliable source is economical, providing the HCF with substantial annual cost savings. Additional factors of safety and convenience are also achieved. Cost Savings
Cost Comparison of Bulk Oxygen vs OC Oxygen Cost Analysis $7.00 $6.00 $5.75 CANS $ $5.00 $4.00 $3.00 $3.00 $4.25 $2.00 $1.00 $0.00 $1.50 $0.34 $0.34 $0.34 $0.34 UNDER 50 KM UNDER 100 KM UNDER 200 KM UNDER 300 KM Distance from Gas Plant Bulk/Gas Supply Oxygen Concentrator
Considering an Oxygen Concentrator System Step 1 Step 2 Step 2 Complete an Economical Analysis of the current HCF s source of supply Compare the results to the capital and operational cost of an Oxygen Concentrator System
Things to Consider Both short and long range planning should be evaluated to ensure the correct system is chosen to meet the needs of the facility. Space in the facility has to be considered unless a R.O.C.S. is used. These may include: Size of facility, Oxygen usage patterns Future expansion, etc.
ON 2 Remote Oxygen Concentrator System ROCS are available in 20 and 40 foot sizes With a variety of system configurations

The Oxygen Concentrator System uses the same HCF s Oxygen Gas distribution system that a Gas Supply Company uses. The only thing that changes is the source of supply. Gas Supply Company Oxygen Concentrator System Regulator Panel Oxygen to HCF s Distribution Network
Oxygen Bottle Filling Station Part of the system will be an Oxygen Filling Station in a separate R.O.C.S. This station will use the excess O 2 generated if available to fill bottles. If the hospital is using the full output, the filling station will stop until excess O 2 is available.
The Basics of an ON Site System for Using the data provided by, the average peak demand is estimated to be LPM of oxygen use. ON 2 will install units supplying LPM of continuous flow. The bottle filling unit will be tied into the same system, filling bottles as the system has oxygen available.
