Dear Coach, On Friday and Saturday, January 24 th and 25 th, the University of Kentucky will host the 2014 Rod McCravy Memorial Track & Field Meet at the E.J. Nutter Field House, our top of the line indoor facility and a regular host of the SEC indoor track and field championships. Nutter Field House is an impressive $8.5 million climate-controlled facility that features a field turf football surface of 108,000 square feet, surrounded by a six-lane, 291-meter Mondo track with a nine lane 120m sprint straight away. Nutter Field House provides an optimal environment for outstanding performances across all event areas. It is our goal to provide a fair and challenging opportunity for all accepted competitors. The races will be fairly and consistently divided into highly competitive heats/flights. The meet begins Friday and concludes on Saturday. Please look at the time schedule in order to ensure proper travel planning. Please make sure to read all of the enclosed information carefully, and do NOT miss our entry deadlines on www.directathetics.com as late entries will not be accepted. 2014 McCravy Memorial Track & Field Meet and Multi-Event Competition Important Meet Information IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER Monday, December 22 nd, 2013, 9:00AM EST Entries Open Tuesday, January 21 st, 2014, 11:59PM EST Entries Close Wednesday, January 22 nd, 2014, 5:00PM EST Revised Entry List Posted Thursday, January 23 rd, 2014, 11:59PM EST By Mail Entry Fee Deadline Friday / Saturday, January 24 th and 25 th, 2014 Competition per Final Schedule HOW TO ENTER 1. Entries are limited to 5 athletes per event, per team. Please note that this does not mean that all entries will be accepted. 2. Meet management will determine field size based on the quality and quantity of entries. 3. All entries must be done through www.directathletics.com by the entry deadline. If you do not have an account, please set up your teams account and roster as soon as possible. 4. Entry deadline is at 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, January 21 st, 2014. 5. No late entries will be accepted. 6. Multi-event entrants must first contact Will Thomas by email at William.thomas@uky.edu and obtain permission for entry on www.directathletics.com, field size not to exceed twelve per gender. ENTRY FEES and PAYMENT PROCEDURE - Teams of 14 or more: $450 per gender - Individual Entries: $10 per event / $40 per relay / $50 per multi-event entry - Please make checks payable to UKAD.

Those schools may be excluded from future Kentucky home meets. Multi-Event Competition Information - Field size limited to 12 athletes per gender, final field will be determined by quality of entrants and the meet management. - Separate high jump pits and shot put rings will be utilized to avoid any competition delays. - Email intent to compete message to william.thomas@uky.edu for permission to enter on www.directhathletics.com. 2014 McCravy Memorial Multi-Event Competition January 24-25, 2014 (Tentative Time Schedule of Events Subject to change based on final entries) MULTI-EVENT Women's Pentathlon Men's Heptathlon Friday, January 24 Women 10:00 a.m. start Men 10:20 a.m. start Saturday, January 25 Men 10:00 a.m. start Field Size 12 12 *Multi-Event athletes will receive their meet packets and event credentials on the morning of competition PACKET PICKUP - All entry fees must be paid in full before your packet will be issued. - Meet management will distribute the team packet to the first coach who arrives at the packet pickup location. - Multi-Event packets will be available beginning at 8:00AM 9:30AM - Team packets will be available at 1:00PM on Friday and 7:30AM on Saturday.
ENTRY STANDARDS FOR OPEN/CLUB ATHLETES - It is our hope to accept a LIMITED number of open / club athletes to enhance the quality of our fields. Entry is NOT guaranteed. Meet management reserves the right to limit the entry of open athletes in any event due to field size. - Open / Club athletes must pay entry fee on www.directathletics.com at time of entry submission, again acceptance is not guaranteed. - Multi-Event will be limited to Collegiate Entries Only. WEIGHTS AND MEASURES Please advise your athletes that weights and measures will close 30 minutes prior to the event s posted start time. The specific location for the weigh-ins will be posted on a facility map visible upon facility entry. IMPORTANT SAFEY RULES - Headphones and cell phones are ONLY permitted in the team staging area. - All safety rules are in accordance with SEC Conference and NCAA rules. SPIKE LENGTH Pyramid spikes NO longer than ¼ (9mm) can be worn on the track for ALL events, excluding high jump where 3/8 (9.525mm) spikes are allowed. We will check the spike length of all contestants prior to competition. Athletes whose spikes are too long will not be permitted to compete with those spikes. No Needle or Christmas Tree spikes.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE - Nutter Field House will be available to athletes for practice on Friday, January 24 th, 2014 from 8:00AM to the end of the Friday s competition and on Saturday, January 25 th, 2014 at 7:30AM. - Teams requiring practice hours before Friday at 8:00AM should send requests to andrew.ninow@uky.edu. WARM-UP LOGISTICS - 60 meter and 60 meter hurdle warm-ups are permitted on the backstretch and in the warm up area. - Only athletes competing in the event currently being contested will be allowed on the home stretch. - In Commonwealth Stadium there is an outdoor rubberized loop surrounding the football field that will be available for distance runner warm-ups. DO NOT GO ON FIELD. FOOD AND DRINK POLICY Although pre-competition snack food (nutritional bars, fruit, etc) are allowed in the field house, team fast food picnic meals are not. Please limit all drinks to containers with lids and ask your athletes to deposit refuse in the proper receptacles. Your assistance in keeping the field house clean will be greatly appreciated. SPORTS MEDICINE AND TRAINING ROOM - Please email Lydia Johnson at Lydia.johnson@uky.edu or call him at 828-545- 2801 for your medical or training room questions. - Please note: Each participating team should provide its own taping supplies. - If a Certified Athletic Trainer will not be traveling with your team, please make arrangements for treatments and other needs prior to your team s arrival. - Please be sure to bring or email ahead the Authorization for Modality Application form for modality use from a Certified Athletic Trainer or team physician if a non-certified athletic trainer will be accompanying your team. - In case of emergency during athletic participation at University of Kentucky, the athlete will be transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Please have insurance information available. - The team physician will also be on call or present during competition.
Coaches Please Be Aware All 200 meter runners and all 4x 400 meter relay teams that do not follow the confirmation procedures listed below will not be included in the competition. 200 meter Confirmation All 200 meter runners must confirm their intentions to compete at the ATHLETE CHECK-IN TABLE after the women s 60 meter final and before the start of the men s 400 meter (approximately 20 minute check-in period) 4x400 meter Relay Confirmation All 4x 400 meter relay teams must confirm their intentions to compete at the ATHLETE CHECK-IN TABLE after the women s 200 meters and before the women s 3,000 meter race. Section, lane assignments and anchor leg hip numbers will be available at the starting line.

Directions to Nutter Field House From Bluegrass Parkway When the Parkway ends, exit right and the road turns into US-60 East (Versailles Road). Follow US-60 East approximately 10 miles into Lexington and turn right onto Mason Headley Road. Follow Mason Headley 1.5 miles until the lighted intersection at Harrodsburg Road (Broadway). Go straight through the intersection as Mason Headley becomes Waller Avenue. Continue traveling Waller for a mile until the lighted intersection at Nicholasville Road. Go straight through the intersection as Waller Avenue becomes Cooper Drive. Continue on Cooper through the first light at University Drive and turn right at the next light (Sportscenter Dr.). Nutter Field House will be at the end of that road. From the North and West Follow I-64 East/I-75 South to exit 115 (marked Lexington/Airport). Merge onto Newtown Pike. Follow Newtown Pike towards downtown for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Main Street. Follow Main Street for 0.4 miles as it turns into Vine Street. Follow Vine for 0.3 miles and turn right at Upper Street. Continue on Upper St. for 0.7 miles as it turns into Limestone. Continue on Limestone for 0.8 miles until the lighted intersection at Cooper Drive. Turn left onto Cooper Drive passing through the light at University Drive and turn right at the next light (Sportscenter Dr.). Nutter Field House will be at the end of that road. From the East Follow I-64 West to exit 113 (US-27/US-68 toward Lexington/Paris). Turn right onto Broadway (US-27 S/US-68 W). Follow Broadway towards downtown for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Vine Street. Follow Vine for 0.2 miles and turn right at Upper Street. Continue on Upper St. for 0.7 miles as it turns into Limestone. Continue on Limestone for 0.8 miles until the lighted intersection at Cooper Drive. Turn left onto Cooper Drive passing through the light at University Drive and turn right at the next light (Sportscenter Dr.). Nutter Field House will be at the end of that road. From the South Follow I-75 North to exit 108 (Man O' War Blvd). Turn left off of the ramp onto Man O' War Blvd. Follow for 2.3 miles to the lighted intersection at Alumni Drive. Turn right onto Alumni. Follow Alumni 3.8 miles to the lighted intersection at Tates Creek Road. Continue through the light at Tates Creek and follow Alumni for 0.2 miles and take a right onto College Avenue. Go 0.3 miles around a curve and Nutter Field House will be on your left.
