SENIORS UNDER 19s Round 3 Round 3 Tyabb (0.1-1) v Sorrento (10.8-68) Tyabb (3.1-19) v Sorrento (14.12-96) A strange feeling after Saturday's game as obviously the health and safety of players is the most important aspect every time we run out. We ask the players to put their body on the line for the team and they do this week in week out. On behalf of the Sorrento FC we wish Adrian Clay and the Tyabb Football Club all the best and hopefully back to a full recovery very soon. Before the game was called off we started to play the style of footy we have been talking about all preseason. While the scoreboard looked good kicking 7 goals in the 2nd quarter, I was more pleased with the intensity at the contest and the organisation and communication around stoppages. Our defensive work was first class and the ball movement off the back of the defensive pressure was just as pleasing. We have a huge 3-4 weeks in front of us to claw our way back in front of the ledger. If we bring the attitude we had on Saturday, we will give ourselves every chance. Nick A few early showers at Tyabb meant it was contested and slippery footy to start the day. Credit to Tyabb who started with a much greater intensity around the football and had us on the back foot. Thankfully they weren't able to hurt us on the scoreboard at all in the first half. We finally started to play our brand of team footy in the 3rd quarter and it resulted in us kicking 8 goals to their none. It was great to see some new players feature in our best players. Matt King had a terrific day winning plenty of footy and was our best. Tom Clarke played forward and 2nd ruck, he offered a great target and didn't lose a contest all day. Joe Boase, Jimmy Guillott and Jack Grant were also significant in getting us another win. Taking home our best team player award this week was Kenny King. For only competing in one quarter of football it was good to get another win on the board. Look forward to another week of training to get better and prepare for another challenge in a week. Luke

RESERVES Round 3 Tyabb (8.3-51) v Sorrento (6.16-52) We had a close encounter at Tyabb against a much improved outfit in round 3. Thursday night saw the side lose about 600 games senior experience when Plugger Lawson, Stix Kenyon and Nick Muller were all promoted to the seniors. A few injuries and some long weekend absentees had us heading into the game light on for numbers. Friday night saw a late inclusion with Gerry Diconza into the side to play his first game for the club and with his son Nat. It was great to see them singing the song together at games end. The first quarter saw us get away slowly, and whilst the endeavour wasn t questioned, our decision making and skill execution was below par and this showed on the scoreboard. Inaccuracy in front of goal created by Tyabb s flooding and pressure saw us take a one point advantage into half time on the back of 12 scoring shots to six. The second half was pretty much the same as the first, with turnovers and inaccurate kicking negating our progress. In a hectic last 5 minutes we continually went forward for little reward until Dalts took a grab and converted from 35 metres out. The net result was a one point victory and the four points to the Sharks. Paddy Hall continued his great start to the season continually winning contested footy. Skip Feldhofer, Boggy Morrison, Nat Diconza, Dalton Sanderson and Luke Brigden were handy. Jack Shepard yet again played well across half back, and first gamer Skinny Robinson showed positive signs. We will be working hard on the track this week to improve our performance against Cribby at home on Saturday. Thanks to Dekka and Tommy for helping out after both starring in the Unders. Good work young men! Also thanks to our special sponsor Dave Walker for his contributions so far this year. Cheers, Flip.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB Well we are now well and truly into the season with two rounds down and another big day scheduled at Shark Park this Sunday. All of the players have been really keen to get out onto the field and are really proud to be wearing out newly sponsored Atlas Car Rental Sharks jumpers. Our Under 9 s and 10 s are non-scoring teams so there will be no results each week but as a positive all teams sing the club song after each game as there are no losers! This week s schedule is as follows: Home at Shark Park 9.15 am U 9 Sharks v Sth Mornington Black 10.15 am Under 10 v Somerville 11.15am Under 11 v Dromana 12.45pm Under 12 v Beleura Blue 2.15pm Under 17 v Dromana Away games Results for the first two weeks as follows: Round 1 Under 11 - Sorrento 2.6.18 lost to Mt Martha 10.13.73 Under 12 - Sorrento 4.6.30 lost to Crib Point 11.9.75 Under 13 - Sorrento 7.5.47 lost to Mt Martha 11.8.74 Under 14 - Sorrento 15.7.97 defeated Mt Martha Red 7.8.50 Under 17 - Sorrento 8.4.52 lost to Crib Point 13.12.90 Under 11 - Sorrento 2.0.12 lost to Sth Mornington 10.8.68 Under 12 - Sorrento 3.5.23 lost to Rosebud 6.18.54 Round 2 Under 13 - Sorrento 6.6.42 lost to Sth Mornington 11.13.79 Under 14 - Sorrento 5.8.38 lost to Sth Mornington 7.17.59 Under 17 - Sorrento 3.7.25 lost to Rye 5.10.40 11.30am Under 14 v Dromana (Playing at Crib point) Under 9 White - Rye Under 13 - Rye The players all love the support of the senior club and if you get the chance do yourself a favour and come down and support the junior sharks and see some of the club s future having a kick. Go Sharks! Slip.

NETBALL REPORT Round 3 The girls headed off in the rain to Tyabb, amazing results came from under 17s who put in 100% as a team and showed their full potential by coming away with a 19 point win against last year s premiership team. Annie was on fire and in the mid court with constant intercepts and Gemma in defence making a lot of turnovers for the team. The rest of the girls didn t manage to come away with a win, however C Grade had Maggie Logan in GK for a solid 4 quarters which gave the girls plenty of opportunities with the intercepts she collected.. B Grade played a tough few last quarters with some injuries from the girls, however Anna had some solid shooting as we re still working on new shooting partnerships. A Grade definitely had their work cut out as Georgia James showed amazing defence on some tall shooters and Sophie Phillips in the mid court with some amazing turnovers. It was three tough games and it was good to see the girls keep their game up until the final siren. Looking forward to a home game this week.
