GENERAL RULES 1. Will players please note that they MUST SIGN IN BEFORE COMMENCING PLAY IN ANY CLUB COMPETITION. For Medals, Stablefords and PARs this is done via the PSI screen in the Pro shop or bar. For other competitions this is in the Competition Book. Failure to do so will mean they are disqualified and will not be eligible to receive any prizes and their score will not count for handicap. 2. Players should also note that cards must be filled in correctly with the current handicap and date clearly written in the relevant boxes. The player and the marker must also sign the card. Failure to do so results in disqualification from the competition. 3. The 1 st and 10 th tees are the only official starting places, except when the Committee designates the 1 st, 8 th and 13 th tees. Penalty is disqualification for breach of this rule. 4. Ties in stroke play competitions are to be decided using the best score on the back nine holes. If a further tie results then the winner is the player with the best score on the back 6 holes. If there is still a tie then the committee must decide. For clarity the back nine is defined as holes 10 18 regardless of where the player started their round. 5. Medals may be played on either or both the Thursday and the Sunday but only the first of these days will count for the club competition and incur an entry fee. Both will count for handicap and CONGU purposes. Stablefords and PAR competitions may be played on either day but only once. - 1 -

KNOCK-OUT COMPETITIONS As of October 2011 players will play off full handicap with no handicap limit apart from Gammage and Georgian Bowl competitions. To qualify for entry into these major competitions a player must have submitted 6 qualifying cards in the last 12 months as shown on the monthly frequency report when the competition entry is closed. This is in addition to the 3 cards required for handicap. Rules Entrance fees will be taken from the bar card on the closing date for entry. Each match will consist of 18 holes but if after 18 holes the match is all square then it will continue until a competitor is 1 up. All finals (except Veterans) consist of 36 holes. If after 36 holes the match is still all square then the same rule applies and the match continues until a 1 hole up result is reached. The maximum time allowed between the two rounds is 1 ½ hours. Players must play their matches by the date specified. The top named player should contact her opponent within one week of the draw being posted to offer the minimum of 3 dates to include at least one weekday and one weekend suggesting a date as early as possible to allow for unforeseen problems due to weather, illness etc. For Winter knockout competitions business ladies may only be able to play at weekends and so some flexibility will be required. If a player knows there will be a period of time when they are unavailable before the end of that round, they should make immediate contact, regardless of whom is top of the draw. Extensions to dates can only be approved by the Ladies Committee. If subsequently, a date cannot be agreed upon, both players will be scratched unless one is able to be on the tee available to play on the final day allowed for that round. All matches to be played from LGU tees. Extensions are only given if the course was closed due to weather conditions or in special circumstances. CADDIES A caddy may only be used in the FINAL round of a knockout competition. - 8 -

When the date for the Final has been agreed, a player should inform her opponent of her intention to use a caddy (or at least a week before, whichever is the greater) so that the other player has the option to use a caddy herself. In earlier rounds, if adverse course conditions prohibit trolleys and a player is unable to carry her clubs she must produce a Doctor s certificate stating this is the case in order to be able to use a trolley. The player should be aware that the condition of the course may make playing dangerous and exacerbate her medical condition. (A caddy may not be a golf professional.) It is hoped that, in the spirit of fair play, a player who is permitted to use a trolley when her opponent is carrying her clubs, will reduce the number of clubs in her trolley as the player carrying her clubs will have a reduced number of clubs. Calculation of shots for 36 Hole Finals Full shot allowance for morning and afternoon. - 9 -
