Examining micro-scale spawning phenology and its effect on fish recruitment and presenting these results at multiple conferences. 2. Development and evaluation of recruitment bottleneck models for recreationally important fishes in Nebraska. Poster presentation received two awards for academic excellence from the College of Biological Sciences and Department of natural resource management at the 2013 Undergraduate Research Scholarship and Creative Activity Day. 2011-present: Aaron Andrews (SDSU): 1. Evaluated resource overlap between juvenile bluegill and yellow perch in a Nebraska Sandhill lake. Presented results at multiple AFS meetings. 2. Preparing a peer-reviewed manuscript for eventual publication that will evaluate morphology differences in juvenile bluegill and yellow perch across different habitats. 2010-2012: Kristopher Stahr (SDSU): 1. Guided and assisted with an independent undergraduate research project relating to bluegill cohort contribution.
