HHS Ladies of Royalty & Distinguished Gentlemen Step Team Tryout Information 2017-2018 Tryouts clinic: April 3rd- 4th_3:00-5:00pm Tryouts: April 5th 3:00-5:30pm Director: Ashley Johnson Humble High School 1700 Wilson Road Humble, Texas 77338 281-641-6569

Dear Step Team Candidate and Parents, I am honored that you have made the decision to audition for the Step Team at Humble High School. It affords the opportunity for self-development in many areas: goal setting, high standards, morals, maturity, time management, responsibility, dependability, and self-discipline. Members will also learn the value of hard work, conformity, and sacrifice. As a parent of a prospective member, it is important that you and your child realize the commitment and dedication required for all members once they make the team. Membership requires a sincere commitment from the family of a member as well. You will be asked to be both supportive and positive. Once your child is a member, you will be asked to join the Booster Club. The Booster Club will organize many of our fundraisers. Parent support is essential to the success of this organization. Before deciding to participate in the auditions each candidate must be willing to abide by the Step Team Constitution. The HHS Step Team season is YEAR ROUND and includes performing at many school events, community events, and competitions; therefore, all members must be able to devote the majority of their time to practicing and performing. It is expected that ALL members maintain high academic scores and excellent citizenship. I encourage you to look at the Constitution for the current school year prior to tryouts to get an idea of the guidelines that govern this organization. This is posted on the Dance Department webpage through the HHS website under Activities. If you have any concerns or questions with the guidelines or rules that govern this organization, they need to be discussed with the Director prior to tryouts. After selection to the HHS Step Dance Team, you should expect a busy, yet exciting school year. Not only will you have the opportunity to create long-lasting friendships, but gain a sense of responsibility, character, and pride in your school. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email Ms. Johnson at AshleyElaine.Johnson@humble.k12.tx.us. Sincerely, Ms. Johnson Step Team Director
