Systema Fundamentals. The theme of this years camp will be a deep exploration of Systema Fundamentals. Without a solid grasp of the basics, it is hard to progress either your health or your fighting skill. Over the five days we are going to take the time to deeply explore the fundamental aspects of Systema. Who can attend? The course is suitable for men and women of all ages and skill levels. You must be 18 years of age or older.

Training by Day and Night in open and close environments. Matt Hill Is a professional Systema Instructor with over 30 years experience in Martial and Combat Arts. He also holds a 5th Dan in Aikido and is an ex-parachute Regiment Captain. Range of work covered: Grappling Striking Ground Standing - Multiple person scenarios Weapons - Crowds.

Daily Schedule. 07:00: Systema health Session. Recovery and preparation. Breathing, stretching, mobilising and healing of the body, mind and spirit. 08:30: Breakfast then morning training. 13:00: Lunch then afternoon training 19:00: Dinner then Night Training 22:30: Sleep. Timings may of course vary on certain days. None of the activities are mandatory. You may of course choose to rest during certain sessions. A full day of training may seem like a lot. However, the unique methodology of Systema training will leave you feeling relaxed, whole and invigorated. Stresses and strains will fall away leaving you with greater levels of physical and emotional health and well-being.

Food and Accommodation. Food: All food is cooked over an open fire. It is hearty, healthy and nutritious. Vegetarian and Vegan options are catered for. Accommodation is Camping. You can bring your own tent or tarp.

Realistic Fun Training for Everyone. Some of the topics to be covered: Breath-work: for health, psychological state and self-defence. Health: Understanding how to use the principles of Systema (breathing, movement, relaxation and posture) to improve overall health and feeling of wellbeing. Movement: Learn and enhance your basic understanding of distance, timing and precision. Grappling & striking, on the ground, standing, multiple attackers & crowds with & without weapons, in open & close environments, by day & night. Strikes: Working to find the relaxed heaviness that allows for free, fluid and deep strike work from any body part. Tactics: How to use positioning, terrain and obstacles. Awareness: The outdoors is the best place to open your senses and your awareness. You will learn tactics and techniques to improve your general and tactical level of awareness.

A deep reset for your mind, body and spirit Spending time in nature will help you relax and reset. There is something elemental in sitting around a camp fire in the evening with friends. It is a timeless way to share the training, experience and let the day sink in.

Learn New Skills: There will be time in the schedule to learn some new skills. They are of course optional. Among others you ll learn: Kit Packing: Lean kit packing is a skill. Learn what is essential and non-essential for 5 days in the woods. A full kit list is provided. Fire Lighting: Probably the key survival skill. Feel the deep sense of satisfaction of being able to get a fire going without matches. Navigation: A dying art. Learn the basics of navigation by map and compass. Tarp and Hammock: Ever spent a night under the stars? This is the ideal time to try sleeping in a hammock or bivvi-bag under a tarp with the forest as your walls and the stars as your roof. Of course you can stick to a tent!

Energising, invigorating & healthy Certain optional health boosting experiences are also available. Such as cold water dousing. Experience the refreshing vigour and health benefits of outdoor bathing!

Time to relax, absorb and assimilate the information You will get a lot of information during the course of the week. You need time to process and absorb it. It is also hugely beneficial to have the time to just sit and reflect, taking the time out for yourself.

An unforgettable experience. Matt s camp was a great experience. Having been away from Systema for a few years it was a great chance to dust off the cobwebs and get back into it. Regardless of whether you are a seasoned veteran or a complete beginner this camp has something to offer everyone. Despite the days being long the activities were planned and organised in such a way that it wasn t overwhelming. Great time, great people, I ll be back for more. Andy Zelaya.
