GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION REGISTRATION Times Registration will be at Plas y Brenin (LL24 0ET). We would encourage those who can to register the day before your event to avoid a rush on the morning of your race. It s valid on the day of your competition and cannot be transferred. Please bring a cheque or the correct change of 5 to buy your membership at registration. If you are an affiliated member of the British Triathlon Federation or your home country s federation please present your annual membership ID to our team at registration when you pick up your goodie bag. GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION Car Parking This located approximately 300m from Plas y Brenin heading towards the village square, this will be clearly signposted. Please be aware when walking to registration and transition as this is a busy road. Please note there is NO PARKING at the Plas y Brenin centre and you will not be able to park on the road by the centre. Be sure to leave enough time to walk from the car park to registration/the start. Junior Aquathlon Please see information later in the document. Snowman MIle and half mile swim Please see information later in the document. Facilities There will be portaloos in transition and by the swim start for athletes, and toilets next to registration. There are a limited number of showers inside the centre as well. re-fuelling yourself at plas y brenin Plas y Brenin are providing special food offers for the Snowman, both before and after the event. You will be able to fuel yourself with some tasty carbs in the Plas y Brenin food hall and bar (next to registration) throughout Saturday and into the evening. Local ales will also be available. On Sunday a special post race lunch will also be available. The bar area will also be open before the race selling drinks and lots of flapjack! Event Photography Photo will be available post race via the race report and on the event website. Photos are provided by Mel Parry Event Photography and Sport Pictures Cymru and are very reasonably priced. Race timing The race will be timed using TDL services electronic timing systems. It is compulsory for all competitors to wear their timing chip, failure to do so will result in you not being classified in the race results. Prize Giving Saturday: 11:00 - Duathlon and Sprint triathlon in Registration Kids Prize giving will be on the finish line of each race. 15:00 - Snowman Mile and Half Mile Swim at the Finish Line. Sunday: Prize Giving will be at 13:00 for the Legend and Classic in registration. If you think you re a winner make sure you re there to receive your prize, stand on the podium and receive a huge Welsh cheer! If you re not a winner, come and give them a cheer with us. Prizes must be collected on the day and cannot be posted. Littering Any person found littering will be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from all Always Aim High Events. Please respect the beautiful location you are riding in and dispose of any gels or bottles responsibly. You may dispose of your gel wrappers at the designated litter points with event marshals along the route, and/or at the feed stations. race day emergency contact If you need to speak to someone urgently on race day about the race, please call 07527 034 308 always aim high store If you have ordered a Snowman T-shirt you can pick yours up at the Always Aim High Store by presenting your race number. If you haven t ordered one already there will be a limited supply for sale. The Legend and Savage finishers t-shirts will be collected as you finish. All Pre-Ordered Merchandise must be collected from the Event Store and cannot be posted after the event. LIVE RACE TRACKER The Snowman Live Results system is now available on the website. Participants, family & friends can all use the Live Results to share in the fun. Sign Up now to have race progress of yourself, family and/or friends posted directly to your Facebook or Twitter feeds! On race day, spectators can get the status of athletes in real-time using the Participant Tracker & Leaderboard. Details such as time, pace, and estimated finish will be instantly available! Just type in the name of the athlete you want to track link it to your Facebook or Twitter - it s as simple as that :) You can sign up on the Always Aim High Snowman Triathlon website. Sports massage Vibe Fitness will be providing the massage for the Snowman in the event village.

There will be no cut off for the Sprint Distance Triathlon, however it is at the Race Organisers discretion that a competitor should be allowed to continue at any stage should it be deemed unsafe to do so. There will be no for the Sprint Triathlon. Legend Swimmer must be out of the water by 08:05 Legend Cyclists must be out of T1 by 08:10 to continue onto the cycle stage. Legend Runners must leave T2 (bike to run) to go onto the run no later than 12:35 Legend Runners will not be allowed onto the mountain stage of the run after 14:30 Finish Line Timing will finish at 16:45 Please respect these in the interests of your safety and the safety of our volunteers out on the course and on the Mountain. Be careful and do not get in the way of Legend competitors whose race has started. You will be required to enter and exit transition at the side gate provided if you are racking after 07:00. further info for triathletes and duathletes race pack At registration you will pick up your race pack which includes: Timing chip secured to your ankle with the velcro strap provided and to be returned to the organisers at the finish line (Savage competitors MUST ensure they hold on to their tag following the sprint as they will use the same tag for the full). Please, please make sure you return your timing chip otherwise there is a 10 charge for lost chips. Race number bib Worn on the back for the bike section and on the front for run section, a tri race belt facilitates this. If you don t own one, they are available for purchase at the Always Aim High Store. Teams and Savage Competitors are provided with 2 bibs. Bike Flag Peel the backing and secure to your bike seat post. Race number tattoo Follow the printed instructions and place on the right upper arm and right outer calf. Teams are provided with 2 tattoos one for the cyclist and one for the runner ( to be placed on the right outer calf). Transition security wristband Must be worn at all times to access transition; before, during and after the race. Colour coded swim hat see swim section for more details. It is at the Race Organisers discretion that a competitor should be allowed to continue at any stage should it be deemed unsafe for the competitor to do so. Transition Security All competitors will be issued with a race wristband, which must be worn for you to be allowed access to the transition area. Please respect this in the interest of the safety and security of your equipment. You will also have your bike checked against your race number on entry and exit of transition. Transition Rules In accordance with British Triathlon Rules (Rule 7.1.c) boxes are not allowed in transition, only a small soft-sided bag or rucksack can remain. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that any bag used in transition does not impede other competitors, if it is found to be in the way it will be removed to the bag store. There will be an area provided within transition to leave your bags and boxes, however, these will be left at your own risk. accessing the swim start When leaving transition to go to the swim start there is a narrow bridge to cross. Please be considerate of athletes who have just finished their swim section and will be crossing the bridge coming towards you to enter T1. You MUST give them right of way and follow any instructions given by marshals. Swim course The swim is set in the stunning fresh water Llyn Mymbyr. A course will be set on the day. A map of the course will be on display at the registration desk.you will swim in a clock wise direction always keeping the buoys to your right. The swim course will be clearly marked with large round dumpy buoys. In line with British Trithlon Rules Wetsuits are compulsory for the swim if the water temperature is below 14degrees. Swim caps are supplied in your registration pack and must be worn on the start line and during the swim so that race safety officials can identify you in the water. There will be safety kayaks to ensure your safety whilst swimming. If you get into difficulty during the swim please raise your hand and shout HELP for a boat to come to you and aid you to safety. You will be asked to hold onto the kayak, please do not attempt to climb on board! cycle course The Cycle route is on open roads. The Highway Code must be strictly obeyed. Motorbikes will be present during the cycle section to support, guide and referee. The Snowman is a non-drafting event. Failure to adhere to British Triathlon rules laid out in the British Triathlon Rulebook will result in disqualification. run course The run is well signposted. Marshals will also be present along the route. Competitors must follow the marked route and are not permitted to choose their own way. Please close any gates you pass through. There are multiple styles along the route. Please be prepared that you may need to queue up and wait to cross the styles. Any runners found to be jumping the styles or adjacent fences and walls will be reported and disqualified from the race. Please use good race ettiquette - First come, first served. If you want to get over the style first, you ll have to run faster! Runners taking part in a team should wait in the team handover area to pass on the timing chip. The cyclist finishing their section may rack their bike in the transition area. Turnaround Points for all Distances There will be marshals present to turn you around as well as a sign which clearly states your turnaround point. Please familiarise yourself with the maps on the website. These will also be available to view at registration. Bad Weather Contingencies In the interest of competitor safety, as with all events it might be necessary to implement contingencies on the race route. We will do all that we can to ensure you have the best experience and will only make changes to the route if it is absolutely necessary. Thank you for your understanding.
