Rattlesnake Ridge has quickly become the best affordable golf-only private club in Central Ohio. Founded in 2001, Rattlesnake Ridge proudly offers a different kind of golfing experience. No swimming pool. No tennis courts. No housing development. No traffic. Just golf, pure and simple, on a tournament-quality course, in a quiet and peaceful setting. In the quaint and casual craftsman-style clubhouse, clad with cedar shakes and natural HOLE 4

CLUB HISTORY Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club was founded in 2001 and first opened for play in June. After a couple of growing seasons, the Club s ownership changed hands following the 2003 season. The new and current owner quickly made a positive impression on the membership with several key improvements. Land was acquired for the design and addition of a more extensive golf practice facility, now recognized as being one of the best in the state, and the clubhouse design and construction was completed. SHORT GAME AREA Designed by the course architect, Jodie Kinney, the golf practice facility now offers multiple teeing grounds, maintained target greens protected by bunkers to simulate on-course shots, greenside and fairway practice bunkers, and fairway space for chipping and pitching into the expansive practice green. At this time, the original putting green was also enlarged. The 11,000 square foot clubhouse, built by the Baker Henning Company, opened in May 2006. Designed by James Bean Architects, with interior design by Dennis McAvena & Associates, the clubhouse has an easy elegance. Whether you are stopping for something to drink after your round, enjoying lunch or dinner overlooking the golf course, or entertaining during your special event, the Rattlesnake Ridge clubhouse provides an exceptional experience. PATIO VIEW

THE COURSE - HOLE-BY-HOLE GUIDE HOLE 1 ~ Lyre 401 YARD PAR 4 Mildly venomous, the lyre has three distinct types of teeth. Getting your round off to a good start depends on your opening tee shot. Hole 1 offers a narrow, tree-lined fairway where position is key. Over-hanging trees tighten your angle as you approach a difficult green with a false front on the left side. There are no fairway or greenside bunkers here, but starting your round off with a par four will require some precise shot-making. HOLE 2 ~ Mamba 201 YARD PAR 3 HOLE 2 Highly venomous and fast, there are many legends and stories describing the mamba. Hole 2 is a picturesque par three playing just over 200 yards. Greenside bunkers front left and right catch shots coming up short. So be sure to take enough club as this hole also plays more uphill than you may first think. This is one of the larger greens on the course, offering both front and back tier pin locations. HOLE 3 ~ Sidewinder 560 YARD PAR 5 Venomous, also known as a horned rattlesnake, females are larger than males. A long par five with Rattlesnake Creek coming into play as it first crosses in front of the fairway, winds down the left side, then crosses back again near the 260 yard mark. Avoiding trouble off the tee and putting yourself in a good position for your third can provide a good birdie opportunity. PATIO VIEW HOLE 1 HOLE 3

THE COURSE - HOLE-BY-HOLE GUIDE HOLE 4 ~ Cobra 415 YARD PAR 4 Venomous, an adult human can die from a single bite in less than 15 minutes. Another beautiful par four, playing 415 yards to a peninsula green. Finding the left side of the fairway here is important to having a good angle into this green. End up in the right side of the fairway or rough and you re faced with a cluster of large trees blocking your approach to this green. Two well struck and placed shots are important for your best chance at paring the third most difficult hole on the course. HOLE 4 HOLE 5 ~ Sonoran 412 YARD PAR 4 HOLE 5 Nonvenomous and aggressive, but can be domesticated and tamed. Hole 5 offers a generous fairway, but plays a little shorter if you hug the right side. Don t cut too much off or you may find the pot bunker hidden just beyond the visible fairway bunker at the right corner. Two large waste areas flanking the left and right sides come into play as you approach the green. Take enough club on your approach as the prevailing winds are usually disguised by the large trees behind the green. HOLE 6 ~ Whip 555 YARD PAR 5 Long and thin, native to the Americas, but present no danger to humans. A generous fairway lets you relax a little off the tee. Catch one solid and you may find yourself with a decision to make. Going for the green in two requires a precise shot, as the false front and sloping fairway to the right makes the pond something to consider. Laying up to a good yardage is important to control your approach into this undulating green. A good opportunity for birdie for well executed shots. HOLE 6 PATIO VIEW

THE COURSE - HOLE-BY-HOLE GUIDE HOLE 7 ~ Stiletto 182 YARD PAR 3 Inoffensive and typically too snall to envenomate a person effectively. Hole 7 offers one of the largest greens on the course, but it is well protected short, left and right by bunkers. The size of the green from the teeing area is deceptive. This can make proper club selection and getting close to the pin location difficult. A par here shouldn t disappoint, but a well placed approach and struck putt is needed for an elusive birdie. HOLE 7 HOLE 8 ~ Boomslang 318 YARD PAR 4 HOLE 8 Highly potent venom, they can open their jaws up to 170 degrees. Playing the shortest of all par four holes, hole 8 puts a premium on position. Taking a more aggressive approach off the tee, carrying the fairway bunkers at the left corner of the fairway, will reward you with a short wedge shot into a deep green. Playing more conservative off the tee, down the right side of the fairway, will leave you anywhere from 125-150 yards into the green. A deceptively difficult short par four. HOLE 9 ~ Anaconda 445 YARD PAR 4 Nonvenomous, but one of the largest snakes in the world. Hold on to your hat as you approach the turn hole 9 plays just over 400 yards from the Championship Tees, and is the most difficult hole on the golf course. Position off the tee is crucial as a pond guards the entire right side of this dogleg right par four. Avoiding the pond on the right, and creek and out-of-bounds on the left, will provide a still demanding approach to a well protected green. A par here makes anyone proud. HOLE 9 PATIO VIEW

THE COURSE - HOLE-BY-HOLE GUIDE HOLE 10 ~ River Jack 404 YARD PAR 4 HOLE 12 ~ Mangrove 213 YARD PAR 3 A big, venomous species of viper known for it s prominent horns. Don t let your guard down as you make the turn. Hole 10 is a classic tree-lined hole, playing over 400 yards and as the second most difficult hole on the course. Another demanding tee shot, avoid the creek down the the left side. A good position will help avoid the over-hanging trees that tighten your approach. A poor tee shot brings Rattlesnake creek crossing in front, to the right and behind the green into play. HOLE 11 ~ Bushmaster 434 YARD PAR 4 HOLE 11 Capable of multiple-bite strikes and the injection of large amounts of venom, even a bite from a juvenile can be fatal. No fairway bunkers to consider, but tee shots too long down the middle or hugging too near the right side can find tree trouble. Bunkers greenside and just short make salvaging par a challenge. There s more slope in the middle portion of this green than one may first recognize, so approaching from below the pin provides you the best chance at making putts. HOLE 10 HOLE 12 Mildly venomous and rear-fanged, also known as cat-eyed snakes. Most common colors include black, brown or green with white or yellow accects. Another beautiful par three hole that is long and narrow. One of the deepest greens on the course that can easily play three clubs different based on the pin position. A straight approach is best to avoid the bunkers protecting both the left and right side of the green. Proper club selection and execution from the tee will be rewarded. PATIO VIEW

THE COURSE - HOLE-BY-HOLE GUIDE HOLE 13 ~ Tree 400 YARD PAR 4 Non-venomous, inoffensive and bites infrequently, but will emit a strong odor if handled firmly. HOLE 15 ~ Vine 415 YARD PAR 4 Can be green or gray, they are venomous with slender bodies, narrow heads, and pointed snouts. Standing on the tee you will easily see why position here is of utmost importance. Three very large oak trees protect the left and right sides of the fairway, and provide a very narrow entrance into this green. Tee shots must also avoid out-ofbounds just right of the cart path. No bunkers on this hole which allows lower run-up style approach shots to be played into this green should you find yourself outside the center of the fairway. HOLE 14 ~ Moccasin 377 YARD PAR 4 HOLE 14 Also know as a water moccasin or cottonmouth, this is North America s only poisonous water snake. This signature hole will soon be a favorite. A mere 377 yard par four, but don t be deceived. A well positioned tee shot will leave you hitting from an elevated fairway to an expansive 7,000 square-foot island-like green. One of the largest on the course with multiple contours that challenge even the best putters. HOLE 13 HOLE 15 Hole 15 is a long, difficult par four playing over 400 yards. Avoiding out-of-bounds left and the tall fescue right, players are faced with a difficult approach into a deep green. Rattlesnake Creek cuts through the fairway 70 yards short of the green and can catch a bombers tee shot or poorly played approach shots. Greenside bunkers left and right are difficult up-and-downs.

THE COURSE - HOLE-BY-HOLE GUIDE HOLE 16 ~ Racer 518 YARD PAR 5 HOLE 18 ~ Python 585 YARD PAR 5 Non-venomous, often called the farmers friend, and native to all 88 Ohio counties. Non-venomous, but one of the longest snakes that can constrict even those with a big game. The shortest par five, be aggressive off the tee but avoid the tall fescue left and right, and the fairway bunkers left. From here you can take a chance at the green on your second shot, bringing bunkers and tall fescue short of the green into play, or lay up to your favorite yardage and give yourself an opportunity for birdie. Those finding trouble off the tee or on their approach shots may struggle to make par. Water comes into play down the left, ready to catch drives played too aggressively. A wide fairway right allows ample room to avoid this trouble, but the farther right you go, the longer second shot you re faced with. Position is key as you lay-up. Find a good angle into this wide but shallow green that is protected in front by Rattlesnake Creek. Walk away with par here and hold your head high. HOLE 16 HOLE 17 HOLE 17 ~ Diamondback 177 YARD PAR 3 The largest venomous snake in North America, they have a heavy body and triangular shaped heads. Standing on the elevated tee of this challenging 177 yard par three, you will see nothing but sand as you prepare to land your ball on the 17th green. A winding waste bunker stretches from the left side of the tee to the front and left side of the green. Another large green which plays effectively small considering the pin locations, and puts an emphasis on putting. HOLE 18
