Coach Van Horn was entertaining, as always, and gave a good overview of what Razorback fans can expect from the upcoming season. The Auction and raffle were successful, with items such as an autographed team batting helmet, an autographed team bat, a Dave Van Horn autographed jersey, Razorback baseball tickets, etc. Thanks to Coaches Van Horn and DeBriyn, our volunteers and sponsors! Joe Ferguson Update: As announced at our Baseball Banquet, Joe Ferguson, former University of Arkansas and Buffalo Bills quarterback, was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year and was recently in critical condition with pneumonia following chemotherapy treatment at M.D. Anderson in Houston. The Razorback Nation and fans/friends of Joe s responded as they heard of his illness. Our club was informed that Joe received over 1,000 emails and so many calls his cell phone quit working. He and his family wanted to express how appreciative they were of everybody s concerns and prayers. Joe has recovered from the pneumonia and bone marrow tests taken last week showed that he is in remission. He was able to come home to Arkansas on February 13 th, with orders to rest up and watch the lake roll by before returning to Houston for more chemo treatment. Joe and his wife Sandy moved to Bella Vista last year. He participated in our club s 2007 golf tournament and is very supportive of Razorback athletics.
Please continue to hold Joe and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
