PRESIDENT S MESSAGE The 2017 golf season has come to a close and I thank you the members for a very good year. We consist of 91 clubs and 1900 members. The Western team matches were organized among ten clubs with approximately eighty women participating. We also had a Sunday tournament at LedgeRock CC that produced a great turnout. This was the first weekend tournament and we hope to continue with others. We congratulate Merion Golf Club who won first place in the Philadelphia Cup. This was their 69 th time! Our Women s Inter-City team won the Griscom Cup at the Country Club of Fairfield in Connecticut and the Junior Inter-City team placed second at the matches at Concord Country Club in Massachusetts. My thanks to the players, captains and chaperones for all they contributed to the teams. The following are the Champions for 2017: Match Play Champion Cara Basso, Whitford Country Club Junior Champion Casey Oppenheimer, Whitemarsh Valley Country Club Junior-Junior Champion Sarah Koh, Paxon Hollow Golf Club Class B Champion Beth Barone, Penn Oaks Golf Club Class C Champion Peggy Kaspar, Sandy Run Country Club Class D Champion Kelley Fiala, Kennett Square Golf and Country Club Farnum Cup Samantha Perrotta, Old York Country Club at Chesterfield Silver Cross Suzi Spotleson, RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve Tournament of Champions - Samantha Perrotta, Old York Country Club at Chesterfield My Executive Committee was comprised of a great group of women. Their talents are varied and their commitment to our organization is very clear. They want to continue to make our Association the finest in the country. Laura Hammond completed her first full year as the Executive Director. I could not have been more pleased with her professionalism and performance. I am confident she will continue to support the Association to the very best of her ability.

This is my last year as President. I have been privileged to serve in that capacity for a total of five years. It has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful for the many people I have met and friends I have made. I ask you the members to please support as many tournaments as you can and encourage your friends to come out and play in our events. I wish you all a great 2018 Season playing the sport we all enjoy! Pat Carbone

Based on the feedback received after the 4th match, the Team Match Committee took a hard look at the inclement weather policy and made adjustments for future matches. There were 4 team default matches in 2017. Of the 22 challenge matches only 7 were scheduled. Five teams were eligible for super jumps and 2 matches were played. Congratulations to Merion Golf Club for winning the Philadelphia Cup against the defending champ Philadelphia Cricket Club. This is Merion s 69th time winning the cup.
