South Florida Express Lanes Network The I-75/SR 826 Palmetto Express Lanes are part of the South Florida Express Lanes Network. As such, they will offer the following benefits: Provide users with travel choices Offer a more predictable travel time Deliver a long-term solution to manage traffic demand Improve regional travel by providing highway-to-highway connection in South Florida

Palmetto Express Lanes Opening Soon Along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from West Flagler Street to NW 154 Street, and along I-75 from SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to NW 170 Street Design-Build phase started on March 31, 2014 Estimated project cost: $262 million

Other Overall Improvements of the Palmetto Express Lanes Project Installation of noise barrier walls at specific locations on the east side of I-75 New lighting along I-75

Ramp Signaling Signals located at entrance ramps, from NW 25 Street to NW 154 Street along the Palmetto Expressway: Reduces bottleneck congestion caused by unregulated traffic entering the highway Signal alternates between red and green lights; no yellow light Pull up to the white line; stop on red; go on green Signals will be activated after express lanes open

SR 826/Palmetto Express Lanes The Palmetto Express Lanes are optional lanes with a variable toll. They will be located on the far left side of the expressway, as follows: South of NW 36 Street one express lane in each direction Between NW 36 Street and the I-75 Interchange two express lanes in each direction Between I-75 Interchange and NW 154 Street one express lane in each direction

Number of Non-Tolled General Use Lanes South of NW 103 Street a minimum of four non-tolled general use lanes in each direction Between NW 103 Street and NW 154 Street a minimum of three non-tolled general use lanes in each direction. Express Lanes will be separated from the non-tolled general use lanes by express lanes markers.

I-75 Express Lanes From SR 826/Palmetto Expressway Interchange to NW 170 Street in Miami-Dade County Located in the I-75 median separated from the nontolled lanes by sodded area or concrete barrier wall One northbound and one southbound express lane

Where to Enter the Palmetto Express Lanes At three locations: Northbound Between West Flagler Street and SR 836/Dolphin Expressway First entry point for drivers coming from SW 8 Street or further south. Between NW 36 Street and NW 58 Street First entry point for drivers coming from W. Flagler Street, SR 836/Dolphin Expressway, Miami International Airport, and NW 25 Street Between Okeechobee Road and NW 103 Street Only entry point for drivers coming from NW 36 Street, NW 58 Street, NW 74 Street, and Palmetto Metrorail Station. Northbound drivers entering the Palmetto Expressway from Okeechobee Road, NW 103 Street and NW 122 Street will not have access to the Palmetto Express Lanes northbound and will have to use the non-tolled general use lanes just as they do today.

Where to Exit the Palmetto Express Lanes At two locations: Northbound North of NW 154 Street This is the exit point for drivers heading to NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road or to any other location along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway eastbound, east of NW 67 Avenue. By connecting directly from the Palmetto Express Lanes to the I-75 Express Lanes; first exit from the I-75 Express Lanes northbound is just south of NW 170 Street This is the exit point for drivers heading to Miami Gardens Drive, Florida s Turnpike, Miramar Parkway or further north on I-75

Where to Enter the Palmetto Express Lanes At two locations: Southbound North of NW 154 Street This is the only entry point for drivers coming from NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road or from any location east of NW 67 Avenue. Drivers west of NW 67 Avenue, or south of NW 154 Street will not have access to the express lanes southbound and must use the non-tolled general use lanes just as they do today. By connecting directly from the I-75 Express Lanes to the Palmetto Express Lanes The I-75 entrance to the I-75 Express Lanes southbound in Miami-Dade County is just south of NW 170 Street. For information about the I-75 Express Lanes Access Points north of NW 170 Street, please visit www.75-express.com

Where to EXIT the Palmetto Express Lanes At three locations: Southbound Between NW 103 Street and Okeechobee Road Exit point for drivers heading to NW 74 Street, Palmetto Metrorail Station, NW 58 Street, and NW 36 Street and locations further south Between NW 58 Street and NW 36 Street Exit point for drivers heading to NW 25 Street, SR 836/Dolphin Expressway, Miami International Airport, W. Flagler Street, and SW 8 Street and locations further south Between SR 836/Dolphin Expressway and West Flagler Street Exit point for drivers heading to SW 24 Street/Coral Way, and locations further south.

Tolling along I-75/Palmetto Express Lanes The I-75/Palmetto Express Lanes are tolled facilities As per Florida Administrative Code, Rule 14-100.006 Department Express Lanes Toll Exemption Registration, the following qualifying vehicles will be exempt from payment of tolls on the Palmetto Express Lanes when properly registered : Public Transit Buses, School Buses, and Over-the-Road Buses Vanpools with 7+ passengers, including the driver, transporting employees to and from their place of work South Florida Vanpools are the only qualifying vanpools on the Palmetto Express Lanes To register a qualifying bus or vanpool, please visit: FloridaExpressLanes.com/bus-registration

Tolling along I-75/Palmetto Express Lanes The following vehicles will NOT be exempt from toll payments on the Palmetto Express Lanes: carpools, hybrid vehicles, ILEV (inherently low emission vehicles), and motorcycles Only vehicles with two-axles are permitted All users will be charged an applicable toll rate Minimum toll rate per segment is $0.50 Toll rates will vary based on real-time traffic conditions monitored by roadway sensors Rates increase or decrease depending on traffic levels in the express lanes Toll rates increase as traffic begins to build in the express lanes and decrease as traffic is reduced in the express lanes

Tolling along I-75/Palmetto Express Lanes Tolls will be collected electronically with an active, properly mounted SunPass or other interoperable transponder Toll-by-Plate and cash will not be options of payment Tolls are posted for the destinations shown on the overhead signs Up to three destinations Do not add toll amounts listed on overhead signs Drivers pay the rate displayed on the sign until you reach the next decision point. You never pay a higher toll amount than the rate displayed on the sign

Using Palmetto Express Be alert and pay attention to all advisories, signage, pavement markings and posted speed limits The express lanes have limited entry/exit points. Once you enter the express lanes: You cannot exit until the next exit point You cannot cross the express lanes markers to leave the express lanes; it is ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS
