LAST YEAR: Pepperdine fi nished last season 7-23 and 5-13 in WCC play. The Waves grabbed the eighth seed heading into the conference tournament before falling to Pacifi c in the opening round. Pepperdine did more than double its WCC win total from the previous year and picked up marquee victories over Gonzaga and San Diego on the year. SERIES VS. LBSU: The 49ers lead the series 13-3. Pepperdine is 1-6 on the road against LBSU. The last two meetings between the teams have been in Malibu, with the 49ers picking up wins in 2016 and 2014. SERIES VS. UCD: The Waves lead the series 3-1. Pepperdine is 1-0 on the road against the Aggies. The teams last met in 2012, with the Waves picking up an 83-68 victory on the road. SERIES VS. NEVADA: The Wolf Pack lead the series 6-5. Nevada is 4-1 at home against the Waves. The teams played in Malibu last season, with Nevada picking up a 69-60 win.

HEAD COACH DELISHA MILTON- JONES FLORIDA, 1997 1ST YEAR MILTON-JONES HIGHLIGHTS Hired as the seventh head coach in program history March 29, 2017 Set the WNBA career record for games played (499) in 17 seasons Two-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA Champion Won two Olympic gold medals (2000, 2008) and two FIBA World Championships (1998, 2002) with Team USA Played 16 seasons internationally in Russia, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey and South Korea Earned several international MVP awards and was named the best foreign player twice WAVE NOTES PRESEASON ALL-WCC: Fresh off being named to the All-WCC first team last year, junior forward Yasmine Robinson-Bacote was named to the conference s preseason allconference team. Robinson-Bacote scored 14.8 points per game last year, the fifth best mark in the WCC, and recorded a team-high 11 double-doubles on the year. She was the third leading rebounder in the WCC, with 8.7 boards per game, and finished second on the team with 29 steals on the year. ALL-FRESHMEN: In addition to Robinson-Bacote s all-conference accolades last year, the Waves had two players named to the WCC All-Freshman team in Megan House and Barbara Sitanggan. Pepperdine was the only school to place two players on the all-freshman team. House led the Waves with 47 blocks and finished second in the WCC with 1.62 blocks per game, and Sitanggan led the team with 93 assists and 45 steals as the team s starting point guard for most of her first season in Malibu. Her 1.88 steals per game were fifth in the conference. THE ROSTER: This year s squad features seven players who lettered for the Waves last year, one player coming off of a redshirt season (Hayley Duren) and six newcomers. Of the six newcomers, four are freshmen (Rose Pflug, Monique Andriuolo, Lacie Johnson and Mia Satie) and two are graduate transfers (Peyton Langston and Tylinn Carter). Of the returners, the Waves have one senior (Kim Jacobs), three juniors (Robinson-Bacote, Keyari Sleezer and Paige Fecske), two redshirt sophomores (Sydney Bordonaro and House) and one true sophomore (Sitanggan). AT THE HELM: Pepperdine promoted DeLisha Milton-Jones to head coach during the offseason. The former collegiate and WNBA great becomes the seventh coach in program history. Milton-Jones served last year as an assistant with the Waves, and brings a wealth of experience from the collegiate, professional and international levels of basketball. The WNBA career-record holder for games played, Milton-Jones was a two-time All-Star and won back-to-back titles with the Los Angeles Sparks. On the Olympic stage, Milton-Jones has won two Olympic gold medals (2000 and 2008) and a pair of FIBA World Championships (1998 and 2002) with Team USA. As a collegiate standout at Florida, Milton-Jones was the National and SEC Player of the Year in 1997. She also spent 16 seasons playing professional basketball abroad in a number of different countries around the world. Two-time Euro League Champion and retired as the third leading scorer in Euro League history Earned the Wade Trophy and Honda Sports Award as the top collegiate player in 1997 Named SEC Player of the Year in 1997 at Florida and was a two-time All-SEC honoree Led the Gators to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances Has also served as a sports reporter and analyst for ABC 7 in Los Angeles Husband, Roland Jones Jr., is also an assistant coach with the Waves THE STAFF: Head Coach DeLisha Milton-Jones rounded out her coaching staff by bringing in two new faces and retaining the services of assistant coach Josh Pace. Pace is in his third season with the Waves after coming to Malibu following a 10-year playing career both in the U.S. and abroad. Pace also won an NCAA title under Jim Boeheim at Syracuse in 2003. Milton-Jones first hired BJ Porter, who comes to Pepperdine after serving as the head men s coach at the University of Antelope Valley. Porter also played professionally in Mexico after a standout collegiate career before eventually moving into coaching. Roland Jones Jr., Milton-Jones husband, rounded out her staff this past October. Jones comes to Pepperdine after an extensive playing and coaching career himself, having played professionally in both domestic and international leagues, and serving as a coach and general manager with the Summer Pro League. ABOUT PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY: Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men s sports one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment and is the only school not affiliated with a major conference. The Waves have earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that s given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12).
