This itinerary starts with lunch at Ngaga Camp on the first day and ends in Brazzaville 10 days later. There are two ways of getting to Ngaga Camp. Guest can choose a private bus transfer that departs Brazzaville the morning before the first day. Guests overnight in Etoumbi, on the edge of the rainforest, from where they transfer by game-viewer to Ngaga Camp. The second option is a flight that departs Brazzaville early on the first morning and arrives in Odzala in time for lunch at Ngaga Camp. Please note that the Mboko-airstrip is a 3-hour road transfer from Ngaga Camp. Day 1 Odzala National Park Ngaga Camp Time Activity Lunch Upon arrival at Ngaga freshen up with an ice cold towel and welcome drink while our camp managers check guests into their rooms. Lunch is ready upon arrival. Afternoon After lunch guest will embark on a walk through the forest with a guide pointing out plants, animals or insects of interest. Dinner Have pre-dinner drinks around the fire and meet gorilla researchers to tell you all about your gorilla trek the next day. Enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in the dining room. Day 2 Odzala National Park Ngaga Camp Breakfast A light breakfast is served at 5:30 before we start gorilla trekking at 6:00 Morning Depart with an expert tracker and one of our guides for a gorilla trek. (Due to the nature of this activity gorilla treks can be anywhere from 2 hours to a full day.) Lunch Lunch at Ngaga Camp. Afternoon Visit to the village of Ombo, Ngaga Camp s closest neighbours. Dinner Meet for pre-dinner drinks around the fire before enjoying a delicious 3 course
Day 3 Odzala National Park Ngaga Camp Breakfast A light breakfast is served at 5:30 before we start gorilla trekking at 6:00 Morning Depart for gorilla trek, whenever possible to a different group of gorillas than the day before. Lunch Lunch at Ngaga Camp Afternoon Go on a forest walk with an expert guide. Day 4 Odzala National Park Ngaga Camp Breakfast A light breakfast is served at 5:30 before we start gorilla trekking at 6:00 Morning Depart for the final gorilla trek. Lunch Lunch at Ngaga Camp Afternoon Forest Walk Evening Unique to Ngaga, guides can escort guests on night-walks in the forest, looking for rare nocturnal animals.
Day 5 Odzala National Park Ngaga Camp Breakfast A light breakfast is served before the morning activity. Morning Depart for gorilla trek or adventure walk. Additional gorilla trekking permits can be purchased in camp or before your arrival and is highly recommended. Lunch Lunch at Ngaga Camp. Afternoon Forest Walk ending with an ice-cold drink in the Ngaga stream. Dinner Discuss your gorilla experience with researchers before enjoying a delicious 3 course Evening Unique to Ngaga, guides can escort guests on night-walks in the forest, looking for rare nocturnal animals. Day 6 Odzala National Park Mboko Camp Breakfast Early morning breakfast. Guests can check off Western Lowland gorillas from their to-see list and get ready for what Lango and Mboko Camp have to offer. Morning Depart for your transfer to Mboko Camp in one of our game viewers, visiting a local school on the way. (Approx 3 hours.) Lunch Upon arrival at Mboko Camp guests are greeted with a welcome drink and cold towel. Take a moment to appreciate the breathtaking savanna that surrounds the lodge. Check-in and lunch. Afternoon Guided boat safari along the Lekoli River. This is one of the best ways to view forest animals such as the forest elephant, forest buffalo, and the reclusive sitatunga. During these trips, our guests often see some of the species of monkeys that are found in Odzala.
Breakfast Breakfast at Mboko Camp overlooking the savanna. Keep an eye out for forest buffalo. Morning Depart for a kayak excursion along the Lekoli River. This activity is a circuit that starts from Mboko camp and ends at Lango Bai where there is regular animal activity. Guests kayak to the edge of the bai and explore it on foot. (Luggage will be transferred to Lango Camp) Lunch Lunch at Lango Camp. Afternoon Depart for guided adventure walk. Guests can discover the various rainforest habitats and its residents by following a network of natural trails created by elephants. (Done mainly in the early mornings or in the late afternoons, when the animals are the most active.) Day 8 Odzala National Park Lango Camp Breakfast Early morning breakfast. Morning Bai exploration on foot. This is an ideal activity to get up close and personal with the animals and to better understand the environment that they live in. Lunch Lunch at Lango Camp Afternoon Optional adventure walk (guest choice) Dinner Meet for pre-dinner drinks around the fire before enjoying a delicious 3 course meal in the dining room. Evening Dinner at the lodge
Day 9 Odzala National Park Mboko Camp Breakfast Breakfast at camp (prepare luggage for transfer) Morning Adventure walk to Mboko. (Luggage will be transferred to Mboko during the excursion.) Lunch Lunch at the Mboko Camp Afternoon Forest Walk Dinner Meet for pre-dinner drinks around the fire before enjoying a delicious 3 course Day 10 Odzala Brazzaville, Republic of Congo 05:00 Guests taking a road transfer down to Brazzaville has an early start and can expect to be in Brazzaville at around 18:00 the same evening. 09:00 Guests flying down to Brazzaville can have a relaxed breakfast before transferring to the airstrip which is only 10 minutes away from Mboko Camp.
