Grading We recommend that teams grade themselves realistically on their registration form to allow for a prompt start to the competition rounds. The first four weeks of the competition will be grading games for Years 3-6. Please also note that the number of grades is dependent on the number of entries received. If you require any assistance with grading please call us 5780405 or email leagues@taurangacitybasketball.co.nz. The Little League is a non-competitive grade with emphasis on fun and participation. Both coaches must sign the score sheet at the completion of game to confirm the result is correct. Score Bench Duty Each team is to provide one person to do score bench (to score own game).

Defaults and Time Requests Before filling out your team form please check with your school regarding any dates your players may be unavailable for, including but not limited to, School Camps, concerts and trips. All default dates must be emailed to competitions@taurangacitybasketball.co.nz prior to the start of the season for term 2. Should your team have a one off event for which your players may need to play early or later please indicate this at the time of completing the team entry. Once the draw has been finalised it will not be amended. Whilst TCBA will endeavour to meet game time requests in advance, it must be noted that we may not be able to meet all such requests. a) To avoid un-notified defaults, the school/ team defaulting will be required to contact the opposition school as well as the Leagues Manager. Please give at least 24 hours notice. If both teams agree, games can be re-scheduled at an alternative date. However it is the defaulting team s responsibility to organize the game and appropriate referees ASAP and inform the Leagues Manager of the game and the result. b) Teams must be ready to take the court at the scheduled time of their respective games. Five registered players must be ready on the court by no later than 5 minutes after scheduled start of game. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit game with the opposition receiving 3 points for a win and the offending team receiving 1 point. Getting Started Coaching Clinic The clinics are for coaches new to basketball (specifically Primary & Intermediate age) that need assistance and guidance with the coaching basics. This year we will be offering a score bench clinic prior to the season starting. Dates and times for Clinics are to be confirmed closer to start of the Leagues. TCBA is covering the cost of these clinics. Basketball Holiday Skills Camp all at ASB Arena Baypark TCBA in conjunction run Basketball Holiday Camps at the ASB. These camps are suitable for all skill levels And are designed for 8 13yrs; 9.00 am 3.00 pm daily. For more information contact baykidsactive@bayvenues.co.nz Navigators - Development Program This program consists of weekly coaching sessions where basic fundamentals are introduced in an age relevant manner with fun activities and drills. No previous experience is required to attend and it is for all age groups. Contact Rachel development@taurangacitybasketball.co.nz for more info. Team Membership Forms and Affiliation to Basketball NZ Basketball NZ requires our Association to utilize FIBA Organiser, an on-line comprehensive sport management program. This allows players to be affiliated to Tauranga City Basketball and Basketball New Zealand. For this reason, it is essential that team membership forms are completed fully and correctly. This will greatly enhance our capacity to manage and communicate league draws and results, but also ensures player eligibility.
