My friend and I were not a hardcore cyclists so I wanted the ride to be within a certain comfort level. Service was exceptional at all of the places we went. I can't think of a single thing that I was disappointed with. As for the GAP trail, it is fantastic. The trail is well maintained and the scenery is just wonderful. You have to ride the portion from Meyersdale to Cumberland. Vifam, 2014.
Golden Triangle Bike Rental Confluence Cyclery The biking along rolling rivers, forests and scenic farmlands was excellent and the bikes we rented from the Golden Triangle were first rate. Most outstanding, however, was the enthusiasm we encountered everywhere. Sara, the van driver, the guide, the innkeepers and the bikers we met along the trail all seemed to love what they were doing. Thanks to all of you! Newman, 2014.
All of the B&B's exceeded our expectations and all of the Inn Keepers were extremely friendly and accommodating to cyclists. Several shuttled us out into town for dinner and one In Keeper even made us dinner when it was clear all of the restaurants in town were closed that evening. Tony Q., 2015. Comfort Inn and Suites service was incredible including local in town shuttle to restaurants, bike hoses, rags, safe bike storage and friendly. Brick S., 2015.
Loved the accommodations; my favorites were in New Orleans and Williamsport. I really liked the hostess/host @ Elmwood Farms B&B, they were so accommodating! JoAnn W., 2015. Thomas Shepherd Inn was just WONDERFUL and also fully prepared for bikers. Also really adored the Connellsville B&B, maybe best breakfast on the tour although Thomas Shepherd close. BTG rider, 2015.
Sara arranged for a trip for us to bike from Pittsburgh to Washington DC.She probably saved us over 50 hours of computer screen time with better results than we could have gotten on our own. Perfectly fitted bikes, side trips to see architectural, historic and scenic wonders, sublime accommodations and the best recommendations for food and beverages. All of this and guess what? We never had to touch our luggage! Nathan D., 2014.
I liked the diversity in accommodations (the beautiful inns and B & B s (Shepherdstown, Little Orleans, Williamsport Levi Deal, and West Newton), the chain hotels at Cumberland and Leesburg, and well even the motel-type ones at Ohiopyle and the Red Roof Inn. I found all of the inn keepers and hotel staff exceptional friendly, helpful, and just wanting to please. I thought the Comfort Inn at Leesburg was exceptional beautiful room and loved the shuttle that picked us up and later took us into town for dinner. All of the inn keepers and bed and breakfast folks spoke very highly of you and they liked working with you. I always felt that you had our backs which gave us peace of mind. Jan F., 2015.
My family (wife and I plus 15 and 11 year old kids) spent two days biking the Great Allegheny Passage Biking around 25 miles a day worked fine for a non-biking family -part bonding experience, part history tour, and plenty of nature. BTG rider, 2014. I was very proud of my 9 year old daughter who biked those 42 mile days! The pace was just right for her. Leoor S., 2015.
We just biked 120 miles from Meyersdale to Pittsburgh with our 7 and 9 year olds. It took 8 days of biking and the kids averaged 8-12 miles/hour on their bikes.the trail was very safe and well maintained, the scenery was stunningly beautiful and it really gave us a chance to connect with nature and get lots of healthy exercise. We just sat back and enjoyed the cycling and spending time with our kids. Book this trip - it's awesome! Jerry T., 2014
