Remember, until your membership is current, points towards pointscore awards are not accumulated, any PB s swum on a Friday night are not recorded and any SMNW carnival cannot be entered. WINTER PRESENTATION AND 50M CLUB NIGHT On the 25th October we will be holding our Club Night at the Parramatta Pool. The summer swim season is swam in 50m pools (Long Course), as some of our younger members are yet to swim in a 50m pool, this will be a great introduction for them. It also gives our competitive swimmers practice in a long course pool for the upcoming season as well as providing a great opportunity to gain LC entry times. The program for the night will be the same as our normal program 4 with the addition of 50m and 100m Freestyle. This will give us the opportunity to swim all stokes on the night. The normal 3 swim rule will be waived for the night and all swimmers may swim all 4 events if they choose to do so. Our Coaches of the Performance Program (Junior, Senior and YES Squads) will be treating this Club Night as if it were an outside carnival and will be conducting a full warm up and pre competition meeting before the night commences. Nathan and Ellie will be looking after the Performance Squads and Kahlee and Tamie will be looking after the Juniors (Platinum, Gold, Silver, etc). They will be trialling new warm-up procedures and training our younger swimmers in proper meet preparation and warm-up. Please be there as close to 6:00 as possible for warm-ups and remember to report to your coach on arrival. Please check with your coaches as to which swims they would prefer you to do on the night. During the evening we will also be awarding yearly pointscore trophies to recipients for the 2012 / 2013 swimming year. The pool has plenty of grandstand seating as well as grassed areas for picnic rugs etc. We will provide more information as the night draws closer.

A copy of the amended rules is displayed on the club notice board and our coaches are aware of the changes. The full rules can be found on the SNSW website. From this Friday night our Referees will be applying the new rules. The Referees are there to assist our swimmers in performing each stroke correctly. Occasionally a swimmer will be disqualified for performing the stroke incorrectly. This should be seen as constructive criticism and the advice given by the Referee should be mentioned to the swimmer s coach so that the faults can be corrected before they become a habit.
