Springfield swung in front with a two-run shot from C Jeremy Martinez in the 4 th and an RBI single by 3B Evan Mendoza in the 5 th. Arkansas, though, countered with a four-run rally in the bottom of the 5 th, including a three-run single by 1B Joey Curletta, to wrestle away the lead, 4-3. After the Travs plated two runs in the 7 th to make it 6-3, Springfield rallied back with a two-out RBI double from 2B Ramon Urias and another RBI single from Mendoza in the 8 th, but the Travs hung on from there to cling to the 6-5 win in game two of the series. Called to the Future C Andrew Knizner has been added to the 2018 MLB All-Star Futures Game in place of injured Midland C Sean Murphy. Hitting.313 with three homers, 16 doubles and 32 RBIs in 64 games between Springfield and AAA-Memphis this year, the 23 year old from Richmond, VA will join the US Team in one of the most prestigious prospect showcases in baseball. Knizner joins former Springfield Cardinals RHP Dakota Hudson and OF Randy Arozarena as St. Louis farmhands in the Futures Game this season. An electric eleven With his RBI double late on Thursday, INF Ramon Urias extended his hitting streak to 11 consecutive contests with at least one double in seven of those games, batting.333 (15x45) with three homers, eight doubles, nine RBIs and seven runs during that stretch. The Magdalena de Kino, Mexico native has also tallied an RBI in nine of his 15 games since returning from AAA-Memphis on 6/24. Overall with Springfield this year, he has hit in 26 of his 32 games, not once having his batting average dip below.300 in Double-A. Mendoza makes them count 3B Evan Mendoza collected three hits and two RBIs on Thursday, striking with two-out RBI singles in the 5 th and 8 th frames. The 21 year old has been outstanding with runners in scoring position this year, hitting.298 (17x57) with 14 RBIs, and has been even tougher with RISP and two outs, batting.324 (11x34) with 10 RBIs. Midseason form With home runs in three of his last six games and RBIs in four of those contests, CF Lane Thomas has continued to swing a great bat through the middle of the season. Since June 1, he is hitting.273 (38x139) with seven home runs, five doubles, one triple and a teamleading 26 RBIs in 36 games. Up to 16 round-trippers on the year, he is t-2 nd among the league s top home run hitters, while ranking t-4 th in the circuit and 1 st in the Cardinals organization with 57 RBIs. Roster round-up Springfield s roster has had numerous changes of late, starting on Wednesday with RHP Junior Fernandez, the Cards #10 prospect, being promoted from High-A Palm Beach and RHP Estarlin Arias transferred to Palm Beach. On Thursday, both RHP Jake Woodford and RHP Landon Beck were transferred back to Springfield after successful stints with AAA-Memphis, while C Jose Godoy has returned from High-A Palm Beach. Also on Thursday, RHP Yeison Medina rejoined High-A Palm Beach from Springfield and LHP Jacob Evans was released.
