The original owner reported many fast passage times in Australia, including: Melbourne to Geelong (45 miles) in 1 hour 49 min fully crewed, and maintaining top speeds of 30-32 knots fully crewed, 23-25 knots double-handed. She is now outfitted with the best electronics, autopilots and many upgrades, and with the addition of a new mainsail, would be ready to race crewed or solo. The present mainsail is adequate for bay and coastal sailing. She would be ideal, and a top contender for line honors in the 2016 singlehanded transpac. Dolphin Spirit is demountable for transport by truck or shipping anywhere in the world. Michael Reppy, the owner/skipper of Dolphin Spirit rebuilt and prepared Dolphin Spirit for an attempt on the solo sailing record San Francisco to Tokyo in 2011, but cancelled due to the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. Thereafter, Michael had major shoulder surgery and other health issues that necessitate selling the boat now. The major rebuild was done in Friday Harbor, Washington in 2007-08, where she was disassembled and completely refinished and repainted. Upgrades continued at the dock in Marina Bay, Richmond, and during haul-out at Napa Valley Marina, where a main-hull rudder was added, linked to the two rudders in the floats, which has greatly improved tacking and steering. All work was done to very high quality, using the best materials and equipment. List of upgrades and new equipment: 1. Re-finished, re-faired the three hulls and cross beams, under-coated, and four top coats yellow Awl-grip. 2. Sanded, and re-faired three bottoms, new barrier coat, and anti-foul with Micron 66. 3.
