Registration Packet All forms must be read, completed, and understood. Information/paperwork, requirements you will need - 1. You must have a final roster of no less then 16 fully registered players. 2. To be fully registered you must have returned and is accepted by AFL for the following; a. Liability waiver b. Player behavior contract c. General Registration form d. All monies Registration fee and security deposit e. Signed receipt for all equipment distribution f. Acknowledgment of all AFL rules g. Attendance of AFL player and or team meetings h. Must meet all player requirements that AFL has set for participants i. Must be 18 years old by the first official scrimmage/game Intentional or flagrant un-sportsman like conduct 1. Any player who gets an intentional or flagrant un-sportsman like conduct during a game will be sidelined for the rest of the game. (If in the fourth quarter you must sit out the first half of the next game). 2. Any player who accumulates 2 flagrant un-sportsman like conduct (during the season) will be ejected from the game and suspended for the following game. 3. Any player who accumulates 3 flagrant un-sportsman like conduct (during the season) will be banned from all AFL activities and will NOT get a refund of any monies rendered to AFL. All equipment will be returned immediately. The security may be retuned as long as equipment is in acceptable condition (determined by an AFL representative) PLEASE SEE PLAYER BEHAIVOR CONTRACT FOR FURTHER EXPLINATION Practice 1. Practice may begin as soon as AFL gives an official start date. You may have as many practices as you wish to get prepared for the season. 2. AFL is not responsible for practices in any way (injury, disputes, field space, playing time etc..). This is up to each team to coordinate and run. Head coaches Refunds 1. AFL does not recommend head coaches to play in the games. 2. Head coaches are responsible for team players, fans, and fines. 1. After payment has been accepted, players may receive a maximum refund of $300.00 and security check returned if they decide NOT to play for AFL or their team for any reason. 2. After the first practice and equipment has been used players may receive a maximum of $200.00 and a returned security check as long as equipment is in acceptable condition (determined by an AFL representative) 3. After the first game or scrimmage players are no longer eligible to receive a refund for any reason. The security may be retuned as long as equipment is in acceptable condition (determined by an AFL representative) Missed games: Any team un-able to play games for any reason will be fined by AFL $200.00. per team per incident. $100.00 will go directly to the opposing team and $100.00 will go to AFL. If both teams are able to change game dates and not interfere with the regular schedule then a fine of only $100.00 will be imposed from AFL. It is the right of the opposing team to accept the re-scheduled game.
Games rules Summery: The Field An indoor turf surface 45 yards wide and 60 yards long with eight-yard end zones Players and formations Eight players on the field; 16-24 man active roster. Four (4) offensive players must line up on the line of scrimmage. Three (3) defensive players must be down linemen (in a three or four-point stance). One linebacker may blitz on either side of the center (a gaps). Linebacker alignment is two (2) or more yards off the line of scrimmage. No stunting or twisting. Offensive motion: One receiver may go in forward motion before the snap. Timing Four 10-minute quarters with a 10-minute halftime. The clock stops for out-of-bounds plays or incomplete passes or when the referee deems it necessary for penalties, injuries or timeouts. Each team is allowed three (3) time-outs per half. Movement of the ball and scoring Four (4) downs are allowed to advance the ball ten (10) yards for a first down, or to score. Six (6) points for a touchdown One (1) point for a conversion by place kick after a touchdown, One (1) point for a conversion by drop kick and Two (2) points for successful run or pass after a touchdown. Three (3) points for a field goal by placement Two (2) points for a safety Kicking Kickoffs are from the goal line. Kickers may use a one-inch tee. Punting is illegal. On fourth down, a team may go for a first down, touchdown or field goal. The receiving team may field any kickoff or missed field goal that rebounds off the net. Any kickoff untouched which is out of bounds will be placed at the 35-yard line or the place where it went out of bounds; whichever is more advantageous to the receiving team. Passing passing rules in AFL Football are the same as outdoor AYF Football in which receivers must have two feet inbounds. Overtime rules No overtime during the regular season. Kansas City Shoot out will decide the winner in the playoffs.
CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT 1. I am physically healthy and I am willing to participate in any and all activities with the Advantage Football League (AFL) for the 2010/11 season. I understand that there is a risk of being injured that is inherent in all sports. 2. I agree to abide by all of the Rules, Regulations, and Code of Conduct as set forth by the AFL which may be amended without notice. 3. If I attend an event, with my team. I understand that I will not avoid any sessions that I, as a member of a team, is screened as to evaluation, age, verification or any other eligibility, to take part in an event. 4. I agree to accept full responsibility for all of the equipment and/or other uniform issued to me. I agree that if any equipment and/or uniform is lost or damaged for any reason, I will pay the full replacement value as determined by AFL. 5. I furthermore authorize any and all emergency treatment and/or any licensed physician to provide treatment, order injections, hospitalize, give anesthesia, or perform surgery. I understand that this authorization is given prior to any need for medical care, but given to avoid any unnecessary delay in emergency treatment, which the physician may deem advisable in the exercise of his/her best judgment. This authorization shall be valid during any and all AFL event, be they official or unofficial and pertaining to but not limited to athletic, social and/or fundraising activities during the 2010 season. I also understand that AFL is not responsible for any activities outside of Newtown Youth Academy (NYA) including any and all practices. If you choose to practice In NYA this is on your own and independent of AFL and therefore AFL is NOT responsible for any liability. 6. I understand that if I sustain an injury accident or illness, it will be my responsibility to notify my head coach/afl. If I can not continue to play for one whole game the head coach/afl has the right to request a permission slip by a physician to resume play. It will also be my responsibility to obtain written permission from my physician to resume participation. I understand that the written permission must be on the physician s official stationary and must include words that specifically state that I may resume participation in tackle football. Player Behavior Contract 1. I understand that at any Advantage Football League (AFL) event, practice or game, any Player who: 1) verbally abuses; 2) attempts to intimidate; 3) is flagrantly rude or, 4) cannot control their language or actions with an official, coach or league volunteer will be asked to leave the event. He/player will receive a written warning regarding their behavior. 2. I also understand that any Player that commits a second similar offense will be banned from AFL events for the remainder of that season. AFL will NOT refund registration monies. 3. Any adult who physically assaults an official, coach or AFL volunteer will be banned from the Advantage Football League. After one year, the player may apply for re-instatement of participation. If the player commits a second offense, he or she will be permanently banned from the 4. The term physical assault includes, but is not limited to: hitting, slapping, pushing, spitting, kicking or striking in any way any part of the body or any physical implement. Adult Waiver/Release AMATEUR ATHLETIC WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY - READ BEFORE SIGNING In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Advantage Football League (AFL) athletic sports program, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that: 1) The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for Permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, 2) I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and, 3) I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation.
