WASHINGTON REDSKINS MIDGET FOOTBALL Welcome to the 2017 Washington Redskins Midget Football and Cheerleading season. The Washington Redskins Association is a self-funded not-for-profit organization. We receive no monetary contributions from the town of Washington Borough or any of the other sending municipalities. Therefore, we must Raise All Funds necessary to run the organization. We require the parents, players, cheerleaders, and members of the organization to assist in raising funds. The Redskins organization has been in existence since 1960 because of dedicated volunteers and parents that have worked very hard to keep this organization running for the children. Our cost per participant is now approximately $375.00 for football and $175.00 for cheerleading. Washington Redskins Association Responsibility: (Football and Cheerleading) 1. Purchases and/or refurbish equipment as needed. 2. Football helmet certification and stress testing each year. This is required by the league. 3. Provide supplemental insurance for each participant in our association. 4. Arrange for and Rent fields for games and practice. 5. Provide game uniforms for all participants. 6. Purchase practice equipment as required. 7. Provide a Scholarship program for eligible High School seniors that have participated at the Biddy and Varsity levels a combination of three years or more. Both football and cheerleading participants are eligible. The scholarship program is funded through our Scholarship Fundraisers held by the Association. PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY 1. Maintain and care for ALL equipment issued during the season & return equipment at a time specified by your coach. 2. Purchase mouth piece, cleats, athletic support and hard cup (mandatory) 3. Other equipment as needed 4. Abide to the rules of the Redskins Organization FUNDRAISERS: Each year the Redskins Organization requires all players to participate in a fundraiser to help off-set the costs incurred by the Organization. Registration fees alone do not cover our expenses to run the program. Therefore, we have to run a fundraiser. In an effort to make selling more appealing we will be offering prizes for top sellers like we did last year. Those prizes will be explained in Fundraiser Flyer. Fundraisers will be distributed at equipment handouts. PARENTS, YOUR HELP IS REQUIRED We can t do it alone. We always need help with Chains and Markers. Donations of cupcakes, snacks, paper products, condiments, etc are always needed. We also ask with help providing rides to and from away games for those participants that need a ride. www.wash-redskins.com

Trophies are awarded to all players as they leave the Varsity Program. The association presents two awards for Varsity and one for JV annually. These are not the typical MVP or Outstanding player awards. These awards are presented to players that excel in Sportsmanship, Leadership, Dedication and Citizenship. We take pride in keeping the children involved and off the streets. We know that coaching football skills is just one of our responsibilities. Our main responsibility is to act as role models for these boys and girls as they become young men and women. ALL participants will receive a medal each year. The Redskins contribute towards Special Gifts for Teams (players & cheerleaders) when they win their division title or league title or post an undefeated season. www.wash-redskins.com

WASHINGTON REDSKINS MIDGET FOOTBALL Equipment Due to the increased cost of equipment, we have found it necessary to instill some guidelines for the use and replacement of our equipment. We hope this will enable us all to enjoy the upcoming season. Game pants and game jerseys are to be worn only for game day, unless your Coach tells you otherwise. NO EXCEPTIONS. Coming to practice in game uniform will result in your child not being able to participate in that practice session. At no time is a parent or sibling to wear these uniforms. Helmets are for your protection. They are not to be sat on, kicked, thrown, dropped, or misused in any way. Our helmets go out every year to be reconditioned and tested for safety and if they are damaged they will have to be replaced, which is costly. At this time we would like to inform you of the cost of the equipment your child is wearing and what the replacement cost will be should you misuse and break a piece, lose or not return a piece of equipment. The Redskins will provide the following: Helmet $175.00 Girdle & Pads $35.00 Game Pants $45.00 Rib Pads (if req.) $35.00 Game Jerseys (2) $125.00 Knee Pads (2) $10.00 Practice Jersey $25.00 Thigh Pads (2) $10.00 Practice Pants $25.00 Shoulder Pads $85.00 Flag Uniform replacement cost: $75.00 Total Uniform Cost: $570.00 Should you choose not to return a piece of equipment, you will receive a bill and not be able to register for another season until that bill is paid in full. You will need to supply the following items yourself: Mouth piece, spikes, a hard athletic support cup and any arm protection. A mouth piece, cup and spikes are mandatory starting the first night of practice. Thank you for your continued support. NEVER USE BLEACH ON ANY UNIFORMS Please retain this document for your record www.wash-redskins.com
