Major Accomplishments of the West Stanly High School FFA/4-H Agriculture Program *** Our program has won 37 State Championships, 10 US Regional Championships, 5 National Championships and 1 Reserve National Championship within the last 9 years, in the areas of Livestock/Poultry/Horse/Meat Judging, Livestock Showing and Livestock Skillathon team competitions. Below is a breakdown of the major accomplishments won or obtained each year: 2008: - Reserve National Champion Livestock Skillathon Team - (held in Louisville, Kentucky during the North American International Livestock Exhibition). The team was comprised of Adam Barnhardt, Emily Talley, Jonah Coley and Cody Smith. - The team finished 2 nd Overall in both the Evaluation and Quality Assurance Categories and was 3 rd Overall in the Identification Category. Individual Awards: - Adam Barnhardt - Third High Scoring Individual Overall - Emily Talley Fourth High Scoring Individual Overall - Cody Smith Fifth High Scoring Individual Overall (All four team members scored in the top 5 individuals overall in the various contest divisions.) - High Skillathon Team Overall (out of 101 teams)- Keystone International Livestock Exhibition, held in Harrisburg, PA - This was the fifth time in six years that our team has swept the contest. - High Scoring Individual Overall and Jr. Stockman of the Year Cody Smith (High Scoring Individual in 4 of the 5 divisions) - 4 th High Individual Overall - Emily Talley - 8 th High Individual Overall - Adam Barnhardt

- Exhibited the Grand Champion Junior Market Goat at the North Carolina State Fair (Exhibited by Adam Barnhardt) - State Champion FFA Meat Judging Team (Team comprised of Brandy Cleveland, Cody Smith, Jonah Coley, Adam Barnhardt and Emily Talley) - Had the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd High Scoring Individuals Overall - National Silver Emblem Award National FFA Meat Judging Contest held in Indianapolis, Indiana during the National FFA Convention - State Champion 4-H Livestock Skillathon Team - Team comprised of Adam Barnhardt, Cody Smith, Emily Talley and Jonah Coley - First time in the history of the contest that a team had the first four high scoring individuals overall - State Champion 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl Team - State Champion FFA Poultry Judging Team (Out of 64 teams) - Team comprised of Brandy Cleveland, Angela Harvell, Samantha Talley and Jordan Lemmond) - High Scoring Individual Overall - Brandy Cleveland - Fourth High Scoring Individual Overall - Angela Harvell 2007: - 5 th High Team Overall National FFA Poultry Judging Contest (held in Indianapolis, Indiana) - Emily Talley - 11 th High Individual Overall - High Skillathon Team Overall (Keystone International Livestock Exhibition (Harrisburg, PA) (Swept the contest for the fourth time in five years) - High Scoring Individual Overall + Jr. Stockman of the Year Brandy Cleveland (High Scoring Individual in 4 of 5 divisions) - 3 rd High Individual Overall Cody Smith - 10 th High Individual Overall - Adam Barnhardt - Exhibited the Grand and Reserve Champion Jr. Market Goats at the North Carolina State Fair (Exhibited by Adam Barnhardt and Jonah Coley, respectively) - High Point Champion Jr. Wether Division -- North Carolina Junior Meat Goat Association -- Natalee Smith (3 rd year in a row)
