D-2 Rifle Contest 2 Calendar 3 Summer Job Opportunity 4 Roping School 4 Submit Bill to 4-H Congress 5 Horse Project 5 TSC Supporting 4-H Through Paper Clover Campaign The National 4-h Council along with the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation is pleased to announce the upcoming Tractor Supply Company Paper Clovers campaign. Beginning Friday, March 26th Sunday, April 18th, 4-H clovers will be sold in TSC stores in all 44 states for $1 or more by TSC store clerks and prominently displayed in-store. They are interested in seeing the 4-H ers and their families promote the event so that more funds are raised in their stores and go back to 4-H ers in their communities. Sixty percent of the funds raised by the paper clovers sold will go directly to the county 4-H program in which it was raised. If you would be interested in helping with promotions for this event, please contact the Extension Office.

HEAD HEART HANDS HEALTH 4-H Newsletter Page 2 Junior Leader Lab D-2 Rifle Contest District Roundup If you are interested in being a counselor at the North Region 2010 Junior Leader Lab you need to get your applications in. They are due April 1, 2010 and you must be able to serve from May 30 to June 3rd. The cost for a counselor is $90. If you just want to attend this camp, 4-H connect will open on March 29 and will close on April 16. This camp fills up fast and is on a first come first serve basis. The sooner you get signed up the greater your chances of getting the events you want. Don t miss this great opportunity. The District 2 Rifle Contest will be held on Saturday April 17. The deadline to enter this competition is Monday, April 12. You do not have to enter this event through 4-H connect. Watch the Extension Extras in the Post Dispatch for more information as it becomes available. District Roundup will be held Saturday, May 1 in Levelland. 4-H Connect opens up Thursday, April 1 through Thursday, April 15. Do not miss this deadline to sign up. Once they close this event it will NOT be opened again for late entries. 4-H Playdays Scheduled You know you re a horse person when your horse get new shoes more than you do. In an effort to beat the heat, the playday series has been scheduled for every Saturday in May at the Post Stampede Rodeo Grounds. This year we will hold five playdays with flags, poles, barrels, goat tie and a roping session. Anyone is welcome to attend. We will still have four age groups: 5 and under, 6-9, 10-14, and 15-19. We will raffle off a pair of Jody Mason spurs again this year and will be asking all kids who attend to sell six tickets. All who participate will be eligible for a buckle and end of year prizes. We are hoping to have a end of season swim party again with all buckles and prizes being given before the Post Stampede Rodeo. If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Wacey or Chasity Moore. Community Service Opportunity An excellent Community Service opportunity is to help with donations to help with the Close City School Restoration Fund. They will be having a community garage sale April 9 and 10 and need lots of stuff. They will take anything..clothes, kitchen/household goods, or furniture. If you don t want it, they will take it. The timing could not be more perfect with Spring cleaning upon us. They will pick items up as long as you are within an hour of Post. So if you need a community service project for your record book or just feel the need to help out, contact the Extension Office and we will get all the information to you.
