DECATUR FORSYTH CLASSIC CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF CHAMPIONS! Dear Friends and Supporters: Can you believe the Decatur Community has been the host of a professional women s golf tournament for 30 years?! Well...we must be doing something right AND with the support of the community, sponsors, businesses and volunteers...we plan to make the 30th Anniversary of the Decatur Forsyth Classic the BEST EVER! This year s tournament, 30 Years of Champions, will highlight our history and celebrate the fact that we are the longest running tournament on the Symetra Tour and the fourth longest in all of women s golf. We will celebrate the economic impact of this event and find out where our tournament winners are today. There will be many special surprises this year as we reflect on the past, look towards the future and enjoy our interaction with the rising stars of the LPGA. It has provided our community with a professional sporting event for the past 29 years and enhances the quality of life for our citizens. It has provided a huge economic impact for many of our small businesses including restaurants, hotels, retail stores and more. In just the past several years it has produced nearly $500,000 annually. It provides a unique and fun venue for all types of business engagement, brand awareness and community outreach. It is a perfect way to say THANK YOU to employees and clientele who love the game of golf or just like to experience professional sports. It provides local charities the opportunity to raise funds needed for their programming and to receive funds via the Jennifer Song Community Spirit Award. It provides local youth opportunities to learn more about professional sports and cultural diversity...and for some to participate in a professional tournament. It unites volunteers from all walks of life together for a common purpose.
