STAFFORDSHIRE ARCHERY ASSOCIATION GENERAL MEETING Held on 9.5.13 At Crown Green Bowling Club, Stone Present: Harry Heeley President Tony Goad Chairman Julia Brooks Secretary Mike Williams Treasurer Tara MacKinnon Tournaments Officer Helen Parrish (TVA), George McLeary (TVA) 1. Apologies 1.1 Apologies were received from Dot Cooper, Robin Hall, Veronique Oakes, Richard Rigby and Mary Turnock 2. Minutes of Last Meeting, (09.01.13) were agreed and accepted. Matters arising: 2.1 Richard Court Shoot Leek have confirmed that they will be hosting the annual Staffordshire Archery Association Richard Court Shoot on 15.6.13. Entry forms are available. 2.2 Archery GB New Membership Proposal Tony Goad reported on unconfirmed reports from Archery GB as to what is actively being considered. It is understood that Archery GB could be investigating removing the option of Junior en bloc membership. This is unconfirmed at present and requires further investigation. 2.3 Staffordshire Senior Squad a further 2 squad sessions have taken place each being well attended by Staffordshire Archers. Harry Heeley suggested that an evening session be planned during the summer months. 2.4 Contact has been made from a private land owner in Oakamoor, in Staffordshire Moorlands, regarding possible usage of the land for archery range. This is to be investigated further as to suitability. 3. Treasurer`s Report Appendix 1 3.1 Treasurer confirmed that the new bank account including on line accounting is working well. 3.2 Mike confirmed that Staffordshire Archery Association are investigating opening a PayPal account and will confirm when this has been completed. 4. Junior Report No report received 5. West Midlands Regional Report 5.1 Tony Goad reported that there was little to report at present. Accounts for GNAS had been discussed as the accounts that are presented at Archery GB AGM are abbreviated accounts as per legal requirement of a company the size of Archery GB. Detailed accounts are submitted to funding partners. Archery UK is a subsidiary company that runs tournaments. WMAS, EMAS and Northern Countries have discussed this and have agreed that if abbreviated accounts are published next year they will reject them which will in turn stop the AGM.

6. Coaching Report 6.1 Appendix 2. 6.2 Harry Heeley reported that Staffordshire is well represented with coaches who are familiar with Lilleshall Academy methods and are regularly attending Tuesday after school club and training camp weekends. 7. It was confirmed that any engraving carried out on a County Trophy would be reimbursed, upon production of a valid receipt, by County. 12.2 It was suggested that all County Trophies are recalled in early January 2014. This would give an opportunity to repair or replace any that need it. 13. Date of Next Meeting 13.1 It was agreed that the next meeting will be held on Thursday 11 th July, at 7.30pm, at Crown Green Bowling Club, Stone. Meeting closed at 2050hrs Chairman Date

STAFFORDSHIRE ARCHERY COACHING GROUP (CCO Report for County Meeting 09th May 2013) Coach Training As mentioned earlier in January I will look at the feasibility of organising either a Level 1 or Level 2 course a bit later in the year, but only one or the other. The Level 2 Syllabus was published in Archery UK and will be tutored similar to L1. This will have a significant effect on costs and could prove an expensive venture unless a cheap venue is found and the candidates are able to get help with fees etc? Coaching Conference It finally happened, Saturday 27th April. Went well the day with 13 coaches attending including four County Coaches (two from Worcester and two from Stratford). I started with a refresher on basic anatomy which was followed by a talk on fitness training (as used on our Junior Squad) and performance coaching as used on the Academy. A thank you has to go Lara McCarthy and Julia Brooks for all their help. Coaching Group Meetings The AGM will be held on Wednesday 25th September 2013. There will be a General Meeting on Wednesday 26th March 2014. Robin Hall (CCO & Senior Coach) rjhall@supanet.com Page 1 of 1
