I d like to say thank you to those members who attended the Annual membership meeting last month. For the members that weren t able to attend, we have posted the power point presentation on our website under the Member Only section for your review, along with our 2016 year-end financials and membership reports. We are replacing one of the clubhouse HVAC Chillers as they are 30 years old and unable to keep the clubhouse cool enough during our warm days. The new chiller is on order and expected to be installed in late March or early April. I d like to thank Mr. Charles Wedemeyer, who serves on our Plant & Equipment Committee, for his help and support in the selection of our new chiller. Although Charles is retired he has tremendous experience in facility maintenance along with HVAC engineering. We look forward to the ability to consistently keep our clubhouse cool during the warmer days. On Thursday, March 30, Chef Benito is featuring a four course Chef s Dinner with an optional wine pairing. The event begins at 6:30pm, which will be held in the Sunset Grill dining room. Reservations are needed by March 28 to participate in this event. We are celebrating our 30 th anniversary this year and we are very excited about our Mira Vista BASH Party set for August 26. The BASH committee is working on a great event for our members to celebrate our 30 th Anniversary. Reminder that all Member Sponsors are invited to attend for FREE and your name will go into the hat for a chance to win a trip to the Masters 2018 or US Tennis Open 2018. GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE March is here and so is Spring! As the golf course is turning green early with all of the great warm weather we have enjoyed. There s a lot going on in March as we will be preparing the course to host the annual Kathy Whitworth Invitational March 12-14. The staff is also finishing up our spring Crepe Myrtle trimming and will start work on a couple of irrigation and drainage projects this month, as well. Our practice tee has been getting a lot of great use with the warm weather. The picture below shows divots generated from the same number of practice shots. The pattern on the left has a dramatically reduced area that is disturbed. When possible, try placing the ball behind the divot in the same line as your previous shot. This will help to conserve turf and reduce recovery time.
