Park also surrendered one goat allocation in the next five years to balance the illegal harvest, and has agreed to pay $2,500 in support of a Regional Goat Inventory Project in the Kootenay's. In addition to administrative sanctions, Park was also ticketed for eight contraventions of the Wildlife Act totalling $1,955 in fines. Mr. Park arranged and supervised three guided hunting trips for mountain goats in 2005, while only having permission to harvest two goats. All three clients were successful in their hunts and a total of three mountain goats were harvested. In an attempt to conceal the over-harvest from authorities, Mr. Park illegally exported the third mountain goat hide to a taxidermist in the United States. The United States authorities alerted the BC Conservation Officer Service of the illegal activity. Page 6 of 30
