FRONT VIEW It is operated with 2 x 18gm CO2 cylinders and has buoyancy greater than 195 Newtons (44lb or 19.95kg) after 24 hours. The lifejacket will take only 3 seconds to right a person to an attitude of at least 30 degrees to the vertical with mouth & nose well clear of the water. This jacket will provide good rear and lateral support and is stable in either direction. The lifejacket bladder is welded with a 6mm bar die & the bladder has the ability to withstand 10 psi of pressure. DESCRIPTION SMA2160 SERIES are designed to provide sufficient buoyancy to turn an unconscious person face upwards within 5 seconds of immersion. Most adults require less than 5kg of flotation to keep their heads above water. However, this CWLP will provide a minimum buoyant force of 19 kg (195 Newtons) when it is fully inflated. SMA2160 is very light weight & is designed to provide mobility. SMA2160 will fit adults with a chest range of 75 140 cm & weighing 40kg and above comfortably. It is designed to be worn over outer clothing and is secured to the body with an adjustable waist belt system which also provides maximum freedom of movement. SMA2160 - DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION There are 2 models of SMA2160, namely:- Std System (SMA2160-1#) Molle System ( SMA2160-2#) The difference between them is that the SMA2160-2 has Molle panels attached to vest to enable an assorted range of packets to be attached the Vest. Both are available in three types of Fire Retardant Valise coverings. Basic Nylon Heavy Duty Nylon Nomex SMA2160-#1 SMA2160-#2 SMA2160-#3 The valise is not part of the inflation system but acts as a protective covering and as an enclosure for the bladder when it is deflated by sealing the Zip fastener which is sewn along the side edges. The beaded activation handles protrude through the zipper enclosure and secured with a Velcro and press stud. The waist belt is made out of durable polyester material and is fastened using a 38mm side release with adjustable mechanism. Provision is made for excess belt to tucked away after fastening without any physical hindrance RECOMMENDATION: We recommend that you routinely check your CWLP as instructed below. If you are not confident, please send it to Roaring Forties authorised service agent to attend to your CWLP. THIS DOCUMENT IS THE COPYRIGHT OF SAFETY MARINE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD Page 5 of 8

VISUAL INSPECTION CHECKLIST PRIOR USAGE It is advisable to conduct the following checks periodically after purchasing SMA2160. It must be emphasised here that your SMA2160 should be properly maintained in order for it to perform effectively in times of need. By doing so may extend it s life span. 1 Check the zipper enclosure is securely closed and has not been tampered with. 2 Examine the life preserver for damage and deterioration of the fabric. Signs of hardness or brittleness indicate perished fabric 3 Carefully examine all stitching 4 Check all snap-fasteners and buckles are free from damage and are securely fitted 5 Ensure donning instructions are clear and legible. 6 Check beaded handles to ensure stitching and correctly snapped to CWLP 7 If pockets attached ensure they are secured correctly. 8 Check CWLP next service due date and that it the unit is not overdue. 9 If the fails any of the visual inspections the unit should be returned to an authorised service agent for service/repair and recertification. DONNING INSTRUCTIONS The Constant Wear Life Preserver is to be donned prior to operations over water. It is important that your CWLP is properly adjusted to fit you. An incorrect fit or improper fastening of the belt or attachments may impede its performance. The side of the vest have velcro adjustments for comfort of fit only. The Velcro adjustments are not to be relied on by itself to secure the CWLP to the body. The CWLP must be used with the securing of the 38mm of side release buckle at the front of the unit. The waist belt fastening system is sewn on and it utilises a quick release buckle for fastening and has an adjustable mechanism to fit an average person properly. 1. Undo zip and side release buckle by pressing the sides of buckle with thumb and forefinger. 2. Place jacket around neck ensuring arms are through the arm holes as shown 3. Close zip and push the two ends of the buckle until they lock with a click 4. Pull the loose ends of the belt at the buckle to adjust to a firm fit 5. To operate pull down on beaded handles 6. To operate orally pull apart zip at beaded handle location and blow into oral inflation tubes. CAUTION: Do not wear your Inflatable CWLPs under clothing or harnesses as the inflation could be restricted and affects its performance and you may also injure yourself THIS DOCUMENT IS THE COPYRIGHT OF SAFETY MARINE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD Page 7 of 8

DEFLATING THE INFLATABLE CWLP To deflate the Inflatable CWLP, reverse the oral-inflation tube dust cap and place it into the valve or depress valve with fingertip. Since the dust cap will not lock in the deflate position, it is necessary to hold it in place. Gently squeeze the inflated bladder until all air or gas has been expelled. Do not wring or twist the Inflatable bladder to avoid damaging it. STOWAGE OF SMA2160 CWLP When not in use the CWLP should be stowed in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area. It shall not be subjected to extremes in temperatures (exceeding +60 C or below -40 C. It should also not be stowed near heat emitting devices or in direct sunlight. It should not be stowed adjacent to or with fuels, oils, greases, or solvents. WARNINGS: Do not repair or alter the design of your CWLP Do not double inflate your CWLP an action where an oral inflation is followed up with a COs gas cylinder inflation. This may over pressurise your CWLP. Thus causing unnecessary damage to your CWLP & even personal injury; Do not use other size CO2 cylinder except 18gm CO2 gas cylinder; Do not flex, twist or wring your CWLP unnecessary; Do not place your CWLP in front of heater or direct sunlight. Your CWLP welded seams may delaminate rendering your CWLP as unusable. Do not forget to routinely check the integrity of your CWLP THIS DOCUMENT IS THE COPYRIGHT OF SAFETY MARINE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD Page 8 of 8
