Terion Back on track There comes a time when you are ready to reclaim your daily routine with everything that goes with it including job, family and friends and also of course your favourite pastimes. Simply getting started without worrying about walking speeds or unpredictable ground conditions is what you need. Meeting life s challenges with inner peace and serenity requires trust and confidence not only in your own abilities, but in the prosthesis supporting you. The Terion s combination of materials offers proper support and stability while standing and walking. Based on carbon fibre technology the foot is characterised not only by its durability and lightweightness, but an effective energy return. The added foam base softens the heel strike and allows for a smooth rollover. Ideally suited for users with a moderate level of activity. 1C10 Terion Ottobock 3
Giving up is not an option for me! Quite honestly, I was devastated when I learnt that my foot had to be amputated as a result of a work-related accident. As soon as I became aware of the broad spectrum of options that state of the art prosthetics can offer, I was intrigued and very determined to give it a try. My friends and relatives still remember me saying: If the prosthesis doesn t work I can still jump out a window. That was when they knew that I would soon be my old self again. From that day things were starting to go uphill. Pretty soon my muscle-building exercises were paying off, followed by hymns of praise from my doctors and therapists. Returning to work was now only a matter of time. At present I feel fit and eager to meet whatever challenges are waiting for me. The good thing is that sometimes my friends seem to forget that I am wearing a prosthesis. What more can I ask? 4 Ottobock 1C10 Terion

Frequently asked questions Who can use the Terion foot? The Terion 1C10 foot is convenient for patients with moderate mobility (Mobis 2 3) mainly allowing them to go back to work and pursue leisure time activities. Due to its flexibility the foot is well suited for uneven terrains in urban as well as rural environments. Thanks to its low weight, the Terion is very comfortable. It enables a physiological rollover, excellent energy return, as well as secure and controlled movement patterns. The foot also adapts to various walking speeds and surfaces, making it particularly comfortable for everyday walking and standing. In what ways does the Terion differ from conventional prosthetic feet? Contrary to conventional prosthetic feet like the 1D35 Dynamic Motion and SACH feet, the Terion is characterised by a combination of carbon fibre spring and foam base. This leads to a dampening effect and a comfortable heel strike without waiving the benefits of the extended forefoot dynamics. Is the Terion suitable for sports? The Terion is suitable for everyday activities of all sorts, but it is not recommended for any type of sports. Can the Terion foot be used as part of an above-knee prosthesis? Yes! The Terion is suitable for all amputation levels meeting the structural height requirements. It works particularly well with Ottobock mechanical and microprocessor-controlled knee joints. Is there a Terion matching my size? The Terion is available in a range of sizes starting from size 22 up to size 28 and a body weight up to 125kg. The sizes 22 and 23 come with a slim footshell, while the sizes 24 and up are delivered with a normal footshell. Each footshell can be ordered in either beige or light brown. Do I need a new prosthesis to use the Terion? No, the Terion can be integrated into new as well as existing modular prosthetic systems without any problem, provided sufficient structural height is available. The built-in adapter serves to securely connect the foot. How is the Terion integrated into my prosthesis? Your prosthetist will advise you and select, order and install the most suitable prosthetic foot for you. He or she possesses the necessary technical expertise and equipment required to install and adjust the Terion. Do I need to wear special shoes with the Terion? No, the Terion is delivered with a footshell that is based on the shape of a natural foot, and works with most commercial footwear. Regardless of the foot shape, the heel height of 5 mm allows for barefoot walking. Are Terion prosthetic feet waterproof? The Terion is splash-proof. After being exposed to water or sand the foot needs to be cleaned with fresh water and dried thoroughly. May I try on a Terion foot? Yes, please talk to your prosthetist. Where do I find further information about the Terion? Your prosthetist or doctor will be happy to determine whether or not the Terion is the right choice for your requirement. 1C10 Terion Ottobock 7
