Age Managers & Volunteers Each week we need a range of Volunteers to ensure our Friday Night Competition nights run smoothly. The Committee very much appreciates all those who assist when needed, and in particular, to those that assist each week, we realise some of these Volunteers, such as our Starters and Timekeepers don t always get to see their children's events each week but without their help our Friday Night Competitions would not go ahead. If everyone shares the load, then you might only need to do it a few times across the entire season. We need Volunteers to assist each week in the following areas: Age Managers Timekeepers Starters BBQ assistance Canteen Assistance Measuring distances for our field events If you are a new parent to our Club, then please join your child on the field and learn the simple ways that you can assist your child and all the athletes in that Age Group. If anyone is interested in helping other than being an Age Manager, please come and see a member of the Committee or your child s Age Manager before the Friday Night Competition begins. Recent Records Coaches Corner Training is available for ages U8 s and up during our Little Athletics season. Training is provided by coaches accredited by Athletics Australia. Our Coaches, Craig (Mon @ 6pm) and Kylie (Wed @ 4pm), conduct midweek training sessions specialising in Sprints, Hurdles & Middle Distance events. PLEASE NOTE: All training is confirmed each week via our Facebook page, this includes confirmation of times and weather conditions. R O B I N S R O U N D U P N O. 3 6 - A U G U S T 2 0 1 8 P A G E 2

Registration Numbers Just a reminder that once you have your registration pack, you should attach your rego numbers to your singlets or crop tops (or plain red T Shirts) as shown in the Handbook. The registration number must be attached to the front of the uniform, as this our method of identifying athletes during events. Prestons Robins Canteen & BBQ Have you visited Tracey in the Canteen and seen her variety of yummy snacks? Have you tried one of the yummy sausages on a bread roll from our BBQ? Pizza Fundraising Night We will be having our annual Pizza Fundraising Night in November so stay tuned for further details Spike Shoes Only Competitors in the Under 11 age group or older may wear spike shoes in events run entirely in lanes, long jump, triple jump and javelin. Please note this does not include the Rubber spikes known as Waffles which any athlete can wear. Spike shoes must only be worn during an event and are not to be worn to and from an event. If you are wearing spikes, please remember to be careful to avoid injury to yourself, other athletes or officials. Parent / Caregiver Particpation IMPORTANT: A PARENT/CAREGIVER MUST BE PRESENT AT THE GROUND AT ALL TIMES. If a parent is discovered not to be present, the athlete will not be permitted to compete. Prestons Robins LAC is a voluntary organisation, and we cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week. We are not a baby sitting service We encourage parents/caregivers not to sit and watch from the car park, but follow their age group around the field whilst their children compete. If there are no parents to help an age manager at an event, that event will not run. Get involved! Helping is easy tasks include measuring jumps and throws, retrieving shots and discus, raking the sand pit, replacing the bar at high jump, organising athletes at the start line of a race or long jump runway, or being a place judge at the finish line. The more parents that get involved to help our committee and age managers, the quicker the night will run. We may also call for parent help in the canteen or on the BBQ from time to time.
