Twin Eagles Ladies Golf Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes April 2, 2018 The meeting was called to order at 1:15 PM Present: Nancy Brown, Pat Studley, Bev Weeks, Marge Honan, Mary Mower, Diane Slain, Melissa Dziabo, Kathy Smith, Don Vandermillen, and Ian Coleman Acceptance of minutes by Bev Weeks for March 19, 2018 and approved by Nancy Brown. Special Committee to review golf course availability Tee times to start at 7:30 beginning Nov. 1 st to April 30 th. Guest fees are $175 and consider moving the discount to 11:30 (same time as walkers) from 11:00 which is priced at $75. Friday Shotguns February and March 8:30 and 1:00 on one course with the other course being tee times and it will alternate courses each week. It is preferred that groups play in the shotgun, instead of stringing numerous tee times together. Monday maintenance would begin early before the 9- holers tee off at 10:00 and would continue on the other 9 while 9-Holers play. There would be a 1:00 shotgun following their events. 9 -Holers could have lunch instead of brunch! Forming of One Golf Committee for Men and Ladies Men are in favor of One Committee. Motion by Kathy Smith, let s decide if we can support the Concept of One Golf Committee when it is appropriate after the Board of Director s has been determined. It passed unanimously by our Ladies Committee. It would help to bring consistent ideas with best practices for our Major Events and more effective communication. 9-Hole Report Invitational had great food, excellent positive comments from guests, deer running through the course, and an Annie Oakley western theme. 2-18 Holers filled in at the last minute, thanks to Marg Honan and Patti Aquinto. The report suggested that several of their events were won by 18- holers and this included their Club Championship, Ringer and Susan Loop Tournaments. Melissa stated we want to stay inclusive and open to everyone. Don suggested ladies could only play in either the 9 hole or the 18 hole championships but not in both. Next year they will consider a Net Only Ladies 9- Hole Championship. The 9-Hole Event Committee added 2 new members, Teresa O Bierne and Linda Behney.
Talon Course Handicapping Thanks to Nancy Brown for working with 10,000 numbers to develop the allocating of the Handicap System for the Talon with various parallel sheets. The committee approved this change and when the new scorecards are ordered it will reflect the new results. Don mentioned it was done incorrectly several years ago. Member Guest 2018 profit/loss statement Numbers on the Member Guest was a loss of $2492.24. Part of the overage was due to a large extra charge for white round table clothes, and members canceling just before the event, creating a loss of revenue for the member and guest tee gifts. Next season our Member Guest will be March 6 th and 7 th and the price will be $585 including tax and gratuity. It was discussed if there should be a non-refundable deposit to pay for the tee gifts and maybe a buffer to help with this problem.
