Ahlfenger Office: 580.252.8696 Cell: 580.647.2625 Email: mainstreetduncan@sbcglobal.net May 7 th, 2018 PRESS RELEASE IMMEDIATE RELEASE Duncan Car Show Winners Announced Winning at Cruisin the Chisholm Trail Duncan, Okla. May 7 th, 2018 - The Cruisin the Chisholm Trail car and motorcycle show in downtown Duncan, Oklahoma was another success this past weekend. Main Street Duncan, Inc. hosted the 11 th annual show on Main Street presenting over 70 trophies and over $1,000 in prizes at the event sponsored by O Reilley Auto Parts of Duncan and Byford Auto Group. The Best in Show winner was Jack Broussard s classic 1957 bel-air; he was awarded $500 for Best in Show as well as a trophy and an additional trophy for Longest Distance Traveled as he and his wife commuted from the gulf shore of Louisiana to attend the annual downtown event. The C3 Car Club of Lawton, Oklahoma entered roughly 15 vehicles and was presented the Best Club Participation award. We had a great two days, said Main Street Duncan Car Show Chairperson, Jeff Bruehl and the turnout was good, everyone seemed to have fun. Thankful Gyspy, a downtown boutique once known as LaVana s, won the coveted Best Window Display trophy. Steve Earnhart and the Empire Fire Department volunteered their time at the Burnout Contest keeping the spectators and participants safe while Jimmy Akers, of J&K Productions, emceed the event. The burnout contest was complete this year with a Brian Hibbard as DJ and the winner receiving four tires courtesy of Eastside Tire &Muffler. I m grateful for the turnout for the 11 th annual show considering we had to reschedule due to terrible weather the weekend prior, said Main Street Duncan Executive Director Destiny Ahlfenger, and I m honored to work with such dedicated volunteers that are already looking forward to the 12 th annual show in 2019; we couldn t continue to grow this show without a committee that is so invested in the success of Cruisin the Chisholm Trail. Main Street Duncan, Inc. annually hosts the Cruisin the Chisholm Trail car and motorcycle show the third weekend in April, set for April 19 th and 20 th of 2019. The fundraising event allows the program to continue to offer grants to the downtown Duncan merchants such as the Micro-Signage grant and the new Vibrancy Grant. The committee will continue to host car cruises throughout the year and the next cruise is set for Friday, June

22 nd from 6-10 PM; cost is $10.
